I'm missing in action,
For my country you see,
I was proud to serve it,
Now all I am is scared,
My hands are tied,
My mouth filled with cloth,
So this is what it feels like to be helpless.
With my comrades besides me,
I fear the worst.
They take them in one by one, and they never come back.
Tears fill my eyes,
I fear I'm next,
Who will tell my family tat I wont be coming home?
The remaining mumble prayers,
They hope for the best.
I am past hope,
Only that my end is quick.
I lean my head down,
Don't let them die, take me instead.
Like my prayer was answered,
They came upon me,
"Get up!" they said,
A tear filled my eyes so i couldn't see,
One last glimpse,
Of the ones I left behind.
I died in that room, so that you may live.
Am I a hero to you
Now that I'm dead?
