Daddy's Girl
Brown and pink; those were the colours of his little girl. A headful of light brown hair and skin fair like her mother. Familiar hazel eyes stared back at him. Wonder and curiosity already filled those eyes as she looked back at him. Her familiar link to him pulsed bright yellow while she looked up at him; her little hands balled up into a fist. She had Rose's nose and eyes, but she had his lips and chin.
He peeked over the bassinet the TARDIS had supplied for his newborn baby girl. Rose had fallen asleep in the medical bay, and once he checked she'd be fine, he escaped into the depths of the TARDIS with his little girl within in his arms. He had dressed her in a light pink nightgown Toshisko had brought for the baby shower once he had made it to her nursery.
The old girl had made the nursery a light yellow and pink and fairytales, and from what he could tell of, Disney characters. Books of fairytales like Little Red Riding Hood and Snow White graced the many book shelves covering the walls. The coral supports could still be seen, but they blended in with the colours of room.
He watched her from the rocking chair placed in the center of the room, near her bassinet. The Doctor stood to his feet and closed the short distance between his daughter and him. He placed his hands behind her soft head and bottom, then lifted her up. Holding her close to his chest, he made his way back to the rocking chair. When he sat down, she took and wrapped her little hand around one of his long fingers.
She stared up at him like he was the most wonderful and exciting thing in the world. Her eyes danced when she took in his face. When he tried to pull his finger away, she tightened her small grip on his finger.
"Daddy isn't going anywhere, sweetheart," he replied soothingly when her forehead begun to crease and her beautiful hazel eyes started to glisten. "Daddy," he said again, letting the feel of the word roll of his tongue. It had been a long time since he had used to word. It had felt like eons for him since he had a family, and now he had a son and daughter.
The little girl seemed to snuggled up against him and find comfort in the familiar coldness of his body. Only a few hours old, and her eyes held such love and devotion towards her father.
"You are going to be a daddy's girl, aren't you?" the Doctor whispered then leaned down and placed a kiss on her forehead. "My Adele."
