He had a son. He, Clark Kent, Man of Steel, more commonly known as Superman, had a son. It was almost too much to comprehend. Very things moved him to tears, but this little revelation was almost more than he could take. He was a father. Krypton would live on, through his own new legacy.

He knew that Lois hadn't realized that he'd heard her confession. But he had, every word. The last thing he wanted to do was to disrupt anyone's lives, especially Lois's. They'd been through so much together. So many of the most powerful moments of his life had occurred with her. But to know they shared a son...words failed him at the moment.

His was a heavy burden to bear at times, having to save the world. But as he peeked through the window, watching the boy sleep, Superman knew that he had a new mission- to keep his son safe. If the knowledge that The Man Of Steel had a son ever became public, that would create all sorts of crises. So for now, the only two people who knew were himself and Lois.

How he would love to take his only offspring on a trip, on a journey, to help him discover who he really was. There were so many things he could teach him; playing ball seemed almost too simple, but it would be a joy he would love to share with his son. But there was more to the life of a superman than playing ball. There were responsibilities, great responsibilities, but also great joys.

One of the greatest joys in his own life was had having met Lois Lane. She had no idea how her love had sustained him, even when he felt like giving up at times. The knowledge that their love affair produced a child- well, again, there were just no words.

Incredible. He felt an incredible sense of pride at knowing that he'd produced a child. This would be no ordinary child, of that Superman was sure. He would be gifted with great abilities, an inquisitive mind like his mother, abilities beyond his own comprehension. This would be a child like no other.

And like any ordinary father, he was incredibly proud. Yes, it was a great day to be Superman indeed.
