AN: A missing moment (Truce at Bakura), If you read, please review. One-shot, done in two parts.
She had left Luke over an hour ago. Emotions, a terrifying mental cocktail of scattered fears, wishes, hopes and insecurities, bubbled and exploded inside her. She knew what she wanted. But now, faced with the actual ability to have what she wanted, it seemed she could do nothing except pace the common sitting area of the shared suite, staring every so often, across at the two doors on the far side.
His room.
Her room.
She knew she was being foolish. She knew she what she should do; what she wanted to do. Yet, she could not find the courage to open that door. Impatiently, she shot another short glance in his direction, sighed and started to pace again.
Leia had stood, wrapped around herself for a long while, goose bumps covered her arms, eyes glassy. A quiet swoosh behind her yanked her out of the trance. She had stopped in front of the large window, looking out over a carefully manicured courtyard garden, trying yet again, to organize her thoughts. Without turning, she watched the reflection of his form move over to her, a watery, distorted figure coming slowly closer until he stood behind her, features indiscernible in the glass.
"You alright?" he asked, voice thick with concern. Leia simply nodded. She wasn't alright, she was terrified. Of him. Of her. Of what she was, and what she could be. What they could be.
"I didn't expect it to feel like this." She whispered, she could see his shadow in the window in front of her, he looked down at her and shifted on his feet.
"You didn't expect what to feel like what?"
"Winning. I didn't expect it to feel so... I don't know."
He nodded, resting his hands on both sides of her shoulders, gently massaging the base of her neck with his thumbs "You tired?"
She shook her head. She was of course, bone tired. They both were, but that didn't matter, not right now.
They were silent again. Breathing together, in the dark.
"What do you want, Leia?"
Her mind cleared swiftly, as the slight movements of his hands pushed all other thought from her, leaving behind only calm and peace and him. He loved her. And that was all that mattered. She allowed the sensation of his hands to overwhelm her for a moment longer before answering. Leaning back into his bare chest, she let out a breath as he wrapped his arms across her, holding her gently to him, resting a cheek lightly on the top of her head. She couldn't compartmentalize this. For the first time, in a long time; she had to let go.
"You."
