My first posting in connection to the cosplay group Giggles & Geekery. I had this idea and had to write about it—then I thought it would be fun to dramatize it. You can find the dramatization I made on the Giggles & Geekery youtube channel.

This story begins somewhere around early volume 2 of the series.

Chapter 1: Ruby In Love

Something had been occupying Ruby's thoughts for some time now... maybe a few days, maybe a few weeks... someone, actually. It was hard enough trying to concentrate in Professor Port's class anyway—with something so diverting on her mind, concentration became impossible.

"Psst! Ruby?"

Ruby started. "Huh?" She realized Yang had said something to her and expected a more positive reaction.

Yang sighed, but she smiled. "Never mind. You know, you've been daydreaming a lot lately. If I didn't know any better, I'd think you were in loooove," she teased.

"What?" Ruby asked in what could be described as a frightened squeak. "Me? In love? No… that's crazy." She knew the more she protested, the more guilty she sounded. "I just have a lot to think about," she said, willing her voice to sound calmer.

"Admit it. You've got a crush. Who is it? Obviously it's no one in this class..."

"You're wrong," Ruby insisted—then she realized she had basically said that her crush was in the class. "I mean…"

"...or you'd have been staring at them the whole time…"

"It's nothing. Just drop it."

"You can't fool me! So, is it someone I know? Hm?"

Ruby knew she had to change tactics fast; Yang knew too well how to get secrets out of her. "I'm not answering your silly questions," she declared.

"So it is someone I know! Is it Jaune?"

This was not going well. "No! I mean, I told you—I'm not answering."

"Hm, not Jaune," Yang pondered. "Is it Ren?"

"I'm not telling!"

"Aha! It is Ren!"

Ruby narrowed her eyes. "No, it isn't. Now stop asking. I'm not answering anymore."

"She's sure putting up a fuss," came Weiss's voice as she leaned in uninvited. (Did professor Port notice nothing that went on in his class?) "I wonder if that means it's someone you wouldn't approve of…"

"You stay out of this!" Ruby growled, giving Weiss a withering look.

"Oh my gosh, it's not Cardin, is it?" Yang exclaimed suddenly.

Ruby couldn't help her immediate reaction. "Eww! I mean… I'm not telling."

"OK, not Cardin then…" Weiss said, sounding thoughtful.

"Stop it! Just leave me alone!"

"Is there a problem over there, team Rwby?"

Of all the times for Port to start paying attention to his students. A new brand of panic washed over Ruby.

"Uh… heh heh, no problem here, sir." The moment Port resumed his lecture, Ruby turned eye-daggers in Yang's direction. "I'm gonna kill you…"

Yang merely grinned cheekily. "This isn't over."

And Yang was good as her word. All day long, Ruby found herself dodging and deflecting her sister's probing questions. She wasn't sure how much more she could take, but she wasn't giving up without a fight.

Hope you enjoyed it! I should be posting more soon. Pretty please leave a comment and check out the facebook page and youtube channel. :)
