Legaia 2 duel saga

"Do you have to go?" she asked. "Couldn't you stay any more longer?"

"I have to; It's... it's my destiny. I'll return, but I can't make any more promises. Not now; not never."

"But you said so," she pleaded. "You said you'd come back for me, to live with me and raise our children!"

"Things have changed." he said. "I'm not the man you've once remembered. I'm... I'm still myself, but a whole lot different. Look, I need time; time to sort this all out."

"But you said me you loved me! You-how could you? You made love to me; I'm going to have your baby! Right here!" She pointed to her womb.

"I'm sorry..."

"Dont," she said. "Don't leave."

He left shortly after.

That was ten years ago. Lang decided it was time to return to Nohl Village. The village remained the same. One boy walked toward him.

"Hey you!" the youngster said.

He looked at the boy-probably no less than twelve.

"Yes, you! You don't look familiar. Are ya here to sells us some goods? Like Kojiro?"

Lang chuckled. "Shouldn't you run along to your father, kid?"

The boy frowned. "I'm not little. And I don't have a father."

"Your mother?"

"She was with grandpa. Grandpa says she's been sick for some time now."

"Unfortunate," he said. "May the Source Forge send blessings upon your family."

He strode past the young one, but the boy continued to follow him. The kid must've given up after a while though.

Lang knocked on the door and an old familiar face brightened.

"H-holy forestor! Lang, you son of a gun!" Marcus said.

Marcus looked different. He looked many ages older. Lang clasped hands with Marcus, hugged him. "It's been way too long brother."

"Yes, look at you! You're different! You've grown a beard, too. Didn't think you had it in you."

"Try eating with the thing."

"I can only imagine." Marcus said. "Come in. We should talk this over like the old times."

"Later. For sure," Lang said, "Do you know where Galvin's at?"

He thought for a bit, "They'll be back in a bit. As far as I can recall, they've been hunting since morning."

"Then who was that guarding the front entrance? A kid?"

It was Marcus' turn to laugh. "Noah? You've met the rascal? He might be a kid, but he's growing really fast. Vigilant Corps lil' prodigy."
