Sometimes Blake didn't understand herself. Most of the time her brain processed before her body could act, like normal person (unlike Yang or Ruby whose brain was left out of the process completely.) Then there were times when her brain shut down, and her body just did what it wanted before she even had a chance to think about that she was doing. The first time it happened shocked and surprised her in the most pleasant way possible.
Blake was a tough girl, she could handle a lot. She'd been alone most of her life and as a result learned not to rely on anyone except herself. It took a lot to upset her and even if she did get upset she was exceptional at hiding it. So when Cardin's torment of velvet hit an all-time high and Blake was left to stare at the carnage of what it meant to be a Faunus in this day and age hit her low in the gut. Instead of hitting Cardin (like she so badly wanted to) she stalked off without a destination in mind, just anywhere that wasn't there.
She walked with her head down and quite literally bumped into Yang in the hall. "Hey Blake what's…" Her sentence started with her usual cheer but quickly faded to stunned silence as Blake without a word pressed in close and wrapped her arms around the taller girl's waist and pressed her face into the crook of her neck.
"Can you just…hold me?" Blake's voice was so soft Yang would have missed it had she not been listening for it.
"Yeah, yeah I can do that." Blake's ears twitched as she tightened her grip as Yang's arms came up around her and held her tightly. With her arms securely around Blake the blonde could feel the slight shudders that ran through the smaller girl and the slightly irregular breath puffing across her neck. She ran her palms up and down her back, igniting her aura hoping to provide as much comfort and warmth as possible.
Blake's breath soon evened and her shudders died entirely and she stilled in Yang's arms. "Better now?" she asked quietly into one of Blake's Faunus ears. She was silent before she squeezed.
"Just a while longer?" It wasn't meant to come out as a question.
"Okay, I've got you, you're okay." They stood there, in the empty hallway for a few more minutes before Blake reluctantly let go and stepped back, a light blush on her cheeks.
"Thank you." She whispered into the still air, not meeting Yang's inquisitive gaze.
"Anytime." Yang replied sincerely. She leaned forward and pressed a quick kiss to Blake's lips. "If you want to talk, or, anything really, let me know. I'm here for you, promise." And with a soft smile and a wink, Yang was gone.
Blake stood in the empty hallway, fingers feathering over her still tingling lips. It wasn't her first kiss, but it was the first that made her feel anything, the first kiss that made her heart hammer and want more, the first that gave her tingles and shivers and an intense desire to run after than blonde brawler and crash their lips together.
A smile tugged at her lips as she turned to look at the door Yang had gone through. She'd said anything. And Blake hoped with all her lumpy bruised heart that anything included dates and more kisses.
