Jackpot.
That was the one word that ran through Blake Belladonna's minds as she quietly pried open the first floor window. 'Morons' she thought as she slid through the small opening. 'I'm all over the news and these idiots still leave windows open, this is why I'm so good, because humans are stupid.'
The quiet feline flicked her ears about, searching for the smallest noises. Once she was assured the residents of the house were asleep she started prowling looking for the usual. Jewelry, small electronics, laptops, anything she could stuff in her bag and hurry away with. She made sure to keep her human and Faunus ears open for any noises as she searched, swiping things from here and there. She was in the midst of looking at what looked like a small gaming console of some sort and debating if she could stuff it away when she heard a creak.
Freezing solid she swivelled her ears.
The stairs! Springing into action she moved quickly and quietly, pressing up against the wall next to the stair well. The footsteps were heavy, indicative of a male. She drew the small switch blade she held in her pocket and flicked it open. She clenched it in her left hand while she used her right to steady herself against the wall. She kept a small count down in her head.
Three… she took a deep breath in.
Two… she tensed and gripped her knife tighter.
One… She sprang into action, whipping around the corner and bodily slamming the human against the wall and raising her knife to strike. The fact that they were so.. Blocky gave her pause and she took the extra second to analyse her target. Then stopped dead. The person she had rammed into the wall was a girl no taller or older than her clutching a T.V and staring at her with wide lilac eyes. The only feature visible through her black ski mask. Blake paused.
"Holy shit, you're the cat burglar that's all over the news."
Blake snapped herself out of her trance. "Who the hell are you? What are you doing here?"
"Well if I had to guess, were both robbing the same house." A quiet melodic giggle from the girl clutching the T.V "Oh man this is just too weird. I'm glad I got here when I did. I totally had dibs on the T.V upstairs. Then again, you're the cat burglar, you wouldn't have taken the T.V Still I can't believe…" She was cut off as the sound of a rapidly approaching siren caught Blake's ears.
"Did you call the cops?" She whispered aggressively pressing harder into the rambling girl.
"Why the fuck would I do that no! Why…" The sirens were now loud enough that the other burglar's human ears could pick up on the noise. "Fuck!" Blake was already stepping away and folding her knife up and strapping her bag more securely, ready to run.
"Well…. Moron.. See you never" Blake threw over her shoulder nonchalantly as she slipped out the window. "Have fun getting caught." She said smugly. She dropped out and began running, weaving through alley ways and taking pauses to hear the sirens. They weren't chasing her, presumably too busy with the other girl. This was the best, the other girl would take the fall and no one would even know she'd been there.
"You run pretty fast kitty cat."
Whirling around Blake was met with a waterfall of gorgeous long blonde hair and grinning purple eyes.
"you… you.." she spluttered in disbelief.
"Well duh I followed you. You're hot and in the same… line of work as me. It'd be stupid of me to not at least ask you to coffee, which I will pay for with the money from this." The other girl smirked and held up a small bag she had procured from the pocket in her hoodie. It jingled and Blake could guess what was inside. "so kitty, what do you say?"
"what the hell….. Fuck it. But I don't drink coffee, only tea."
"that's cool. I'm Yang"
Blake hesitated and stared at the proffered hand. Shrugging she took it. "Blake."
She was met with a brilliant grin.
