Hey this is Chaotic_Angel speaking. Once again this is a songfic. I
wonder why I keep writing angsty fanfics. Anyway, this is once again about
Cloud, but this time he doesn't move on. It's been one year since Aeris
died, but he hasn't given up hope yet. So for short this is just him and
his angsty toughts.
Disclaimer: How many times do I have to tell you? I don't own FFVII, it belongs to its owners. I also don't own Dearest by Hamasaki Ayumi it belongs to Hamasaki Ayumi. All I own here is myself. Now was that that hard to understand?

Cloud laid in his bed thinking about Aeris.
Hontou ni taisetsu na mono igai subete suttee
Shimaetara ii no ni ne
Genjitsu wa tada zankoku de
(It would be nice if we could put away and throw out
everything except what really mattered, but
reality is just cruel.)
"Why must life be so cruel and take away my love?" he thought to himself.
He laughed bitterly to himself for his misfortune. Today marked the one-year anniversary of Aeris's death. Tifa called him earlier and told him, but he remembered.
Sonna toki itsu date
Me o tojireba
Waratteru kimi ga iru
(In such times,
I see you laughing
whenever I close my eyes.)
His eyes closed as he smiled back at the image he picture in his mind. She kindly smiled at him. His heart ached, for he knew the image before him was just an illusion, a fading memory.
Itsuka eien no nemuri ni tsuku hi made
Dou ka sono egao ga
Taema naku aru you ni
(Until the day I reach eternal sleep,
that smiling face will
have to stay with me without fail.)
Until he found his love again, a memory was all he had of her, that and some pictures, yet that was good enough for him.
Hito wa minna kanashii kara
Wasurete yuku ikimono dakedo
(People are all sad, so
they go and forget, but--)
After Aeris died, everyone mourned for her including himself, but in his heart, he knew one day he will be reunited with her.
Aisubeki mono no tame
Ai o kureru mono no tame dekiru koto
(For that which I should love,
For that which gives me love, I will do what I can.)
Until then, he would search for a way to bring her back, but even if he didn't find a way, he would be with her sooner or later in heaven.

Subete ga bukiyou de
Toomawari shita yo ne
Kizutsuke atta yo ne
(Back then, when we met,
it was all awkward.
We went the long way, didn't we?
We got hurt, didn't we?)
He often scolded himself for not telling her his feelings, but he was quite sure she already knew. Because of his shyness, they both ended up hurt in the end, but he was still quite sure she found out in the end.
