MONTH ONE 11 SEP 09
WEEK ONE
Here I am on my way to duty once again… they tell me that they called me because of something that happened and that's all they could say at the time and I will be briefed upon arrival to Kuwait. On another note it feels good to be back in duty again its been a while and I am a little nervous and anxious, but I have a good feeling. I will miss parker, for this is the first time I have been away from him this long. They haven't told me what exactly I will be doing or exactly where I am going but it should be exciting to say the least. I hope bones is ok. I know she doesn't like me leaving but she doesn't show it. She is just trying to be her stubborn self but hey im going to miss her and she knows it. I still cant believe that Angelia and Hoggens got married finally. I hope Camille can handle everyone being gone I mean with Angelia and hoggens being in Paris and bones leaving to discover life or something like that. Sometimes I really don't know what she says half of the time but Im trying. Sometimes my head hurts.
Well I have been in this C-130 for about three hours, I know there's not that many people here and its kind of a big bird but still, my legs are cramped and im tired as hell and this ride is not over for another two hours. I almost forgot how long a trip it is to get over to the sand box. Im still trying to figure out what happened that made them call me back. The last thing the told me is that I was going to be training the local forces. Hopefully I have a good terp, and that I don't have to start from scratch with these guys. Im hoping that I can just start and they know a little bit about what they are doing.
Well I just got to Kuwait and got my basic briefing of what was going on and apparently our intelligence group has received information from icom chatter that they were planning to try an attack again like the world trade center, that they were planning on over running one of the out posts on the out lining mountains in the Helmand province which is where the 3rd infantry division is stationed at this moment as a precautionary measure. I am also being told that I will meet with my interpreter named Taj as I arrive in BAF (Bagram Air Field). I am to be greeted by Lt. Col Parks in the transition tent and he will give me further info from there.
I have finally arrived in BAF and have meet Taj who speaks perfect English and looks like he would fit in anywhere in the states. I will be here for about two days waiting for my bird in to JAF (Jalabad Air Field) where from there I will catch a bird to a Fob that is about fifty miles out of Quryan which is in the Helmand province. That is where I will meet the men that I will train and take into combat with me. I have been told that I will be in charge of fifteen men, all apart of the Afghanistan National Army.
