One. Two. Three. The targets light up and I throw my knives instantly.
I hit the targets in the bullseyes, and move on to the next section, which are dummies with targets on their hearts.
Adrenaline runs through my body as I reach for the rest of my knives. One. Two. Three. I throw the last of my knives at the targets, hitting all three dummies in the heart.
I smirk to myself, and then I hear a clapping coming from behind me. I swipe around to see Cato. I walk over to him with a huge grin on my face, and when I reach him he pulls me up into a hug and lifts me off the ground.
"Hey, what was that for?" I say as he puts me down. "Because I love you." I look around and check that no one was around to hear. Love was forbidden at the academy, as it was seen as a distraction. "I love you too Cato, but you know the academy will kick us out if they find out." I reply.
"I know but-" just as Cato was talking, an instructor walked in and we automatically pulled apart. She tells us that we have to go home and get ready for the reaping. Cato walks me to my house. I kiss him goodbye, and don't check if anyone is around.
