"Kind of simple, isn't it? I mean compared to McGee and Abby's, our kid is gonna end up jealous."
Tony hugged Ziva from behind, resting his hands on her now very noticeable baby bump. She was seven months pregnant and their nursery was finally finished, at least to Ziva's standards.
"Tim and Abby may want their child to end up spoiled, but I would prefer ours have a more realistic look at life. Besides, we are on more of a budget than they are." McGee and Abby practically had their own toy shop in their nursery, and Abby wasn't even in her second trimester yet. Even though both couples had planned their babies, McGee and Abby started their shopping early.
"You might see it that way but I want our kid to end up a spoiled brat, that way he or she will know they have to work really hard to keep getting everything they want." Ziva giggled and turned around in Tony's arms as he continued looking over the nursery. "Sorry to disappoint you Tony, but I want our child to be better than both of us. That means no spoiling from you. I mean just look how you turned out?" she joked.
Even Tony knew he didn't want a spoiled mini DiNozzo running around the house. Though a boy still wouldn't be too bad. "Well I at least still wish we would have found out the sex before doing the baby room. I mean a gender neutral room, and we decided to have it painted yellow? Any color can be a girls color! But yellow is not a boy color."
"Well would you rather we had painted the room like Tim and Abby did?" Tony scowled. They were having a spoiled little goth baby, no doubt. While they also didn't know the gender of their baby, Abby had went out of her way to a supposed psychic who said they would have a boy. They were also told the likely sex of Tony and Ziva's baby, and somehow Abby had kept the secret for this long. Not that they'd believe it anyway.
"Alright, I guess yellow is better than painting it the color of our enemies' blood, but we should have done something a little bit more... masculine." Ziva liked the yellow baby room because it reminded her of home, but then again, Israel was a long way away, and they certainly wouldn't be moving there. A vacation wasn't even in their near future either. "Well, if you want a room with some more boy colors... We could always repaint. I would not mind making it blue and orange, if we could handle the reminder of work every time we came in here."
No, this baby wasn't going to be a Navy brat. But an NCIS brat was good enough for them.
