I walked through the huge imposing stone doors to find a beautifully modern lobby. The man beside me motioned to the Desk in the center.

"This is where you will be working." He said emotionless almost bored sounding. I nodded my head, walking forward in my hand 'me' down black heels. The man followed me and stood in front of my desk as I sat. "Master Aro will be down in a moment to explain things to you" with this he left exiting down a hallway to my left.

Master? Maybe it was an Italian thing, like wine or Mario. I don't know. Truth is I really just needed a job, and I was lucky enough to get this. I can't type worth shit, or answer phones or even speak Italian very fluently. I'm a horrible receptionist. That's why I was so surprised when the lady at the unemployment office called me and told me about this job. But hey its work, I'm going to get paid.

I smiled as I observed my surroundings. This place was a palace and I was only in the lobby. It had to be a major corporation. I looked at my desk and found a name plate. "Ginna" This must be who I was replacing. I wonder why she quit. I placed it back on the desk off to the side. Just as I sat it down the doors opened to reveal a man. His skin appeared almost translucent. His jet black hair, a striking contrast and his eyes a breath taking violet. He smiled as he saw me.

"Buongiorno." He said in flawless Italian.

"Buongiorno." I replied, in my horrible American accent.

"Perhaps I'll speak in English. I suspect it will be easier." I nodded. "So you are Blythe, the new receptionist."

"Yes, It's a pleasure to meet you, Mr. Aro" I stated extended my hand. He took it and pressed his lips to it. I blushed. Aro held my hand like this a little bit longer than I would have expected. I watched as he smiled a coy smile.

"Indeed It is a pleasure, and please just Aro." He stated warmly, I smiled. "This is your office, You are to greet people when they come in, if they have business they will already know where to go. If someone is to drop by without an appointment tell them to wait in the chairs to the left." He said motioning with his hand. "But that rarely happens." I nodded in acknowledgment as he continued. "Answer the phones, take messages, ect. The only stipulation to this job is you are not to leave the lobby unless called in which case you will be escorted by myself or one of the other heads of the company. Do you understand, Blythe?"

"Of course Aro" I said taking it all in.

"Good I'll leave you to your work than. What you are to say when answering the phone is written there on your desk. If you have any questions Demitri will be more than happy to help you." He said motioning to a man behind him who I hadn't even heard enter. His skin too was pale, but had more of an olive tone to it and his hair, a striking ebony, fell just below his shoulders. He smiled politely when he caught me examining him. I quickly averted my gaze.

As Aro turned to leave, I again took my seat. Letting out a sigh of relief when he was finally gone, He was to say the least, intimidating. The man he had called Demetri approached my desk. I gazed up at him from behind my black square glasses.

"Yes?" I asked pushing a blonde curl behind my ear, as I began cleaning off the left over junk on the desk from "Ginna."

"Master Aro already introduced me, but failed to introduce you. May I know your name?" He asked, his voice like velvet.

"Oh, I'm Blythe." I said blushing slightly. This man was beautiful.

"Well, I am sure it will be a pleasure to work with you Blythe." He said taking my hand, and slowly pressing his lips to its back. I smiled.

"I'm sure it will." He smiled as he turned around and left down the adjacent dark hall. "Damn, Italian boys are sexy" I muttered under my breath as I sat down.
