A poem that I set in Itachi's pov about Sasuke. Has some spoilers. Better than the summary sounds!

I don't know what I was thinking.

I didn't know what I was thinking.

Massacring everyone, leaving them dead around a pool of blood,

Your pure eyes tainted from the very sight.

You rushed in and I saw your black eyes cloud with tears

I was a horrid brother.

"Hate me and live like the coward you are, clinging to life without honor!" Why did I say that? Why did I lie so foolishly to you?

I saw your eyes when we later met, black and red with hatred for me.

And yet again, I was the foolish brother.

"You don't have enough hate." I wanted to break down from the strain.

Two years passed, and again we meet,

Your eyes were still blackened with everlasting hate.

"I see through your illusion." No, little brother, you don't.

You don't see my unconditional love for you.

I watched your birth, smiling.

And now I will die, with no regrets, with some tiny little shred of honor,

And I will still smile for you.
