Note: To get a better understanding of this song, picture that Kirk and Spock finished the 5 year mission and they had a relationship. For some reason, something went wrong and Spock kind of stopped talking to Jim and they went their separate ways. Jim's in Iowa again living in a cozy lodge by himself for now. He hasn't abandoned his Starfleet duties but he's taking a small break. It's snowing and all of a sudden Spock shows up at his doorstep. This song is in Jim's POV, as if he wrote this song to Spock about them.
VERSE 1
Stand there like a ghost, shaking from the snow (oww)
He'll ask you if you're out, of your vulcan mind (iiind)
Say it's been a long, long leave
And you were too unsure to tell him why you came (ame)
That's how it works, that's how you get the Kirk
And then you say
CHORUS
I want you my cherished T'hy'la
I would wait forever and ever
Broke our bond, I'll mend it even better
I would wait forever and ever
And that's how it works, that's how you get the Kirk, Kirk
And that's how it works, that's how you get the Kirk, Kirk
VERSE 2
Remind him how it used to be (bee) yeah, yeah
With pictures in frames of touches on shifts (shifts)
Tell him how illogical you were,
When you left him in the dark and never told him why
That's how it works, that's how you lost the Kirk
And then you say
repeat CHORUS
BRIDGE
And youuu knooow oh oh oh oh oh oh oh
That I dooon't want youuu to go oh oh
Remind me how it used to be...
Pictures in frames of touches on shifts
And say you want me... yeah
And then you say
CHORUS 2
I want you my cherished T'hy'la
I would wait forever and ever
Broke our bond, I'll mend it even better
I want you forever and ever
And that's how it works, that's how you get the Kirk, Kirk
And that's how it works, that's how you get the Kirk, Kirk
And that's how it works, that's how you get the Kirk, Kirk
And that's how it works, that's how you get the Kirk, Kirk
That's how it works, that's how you got the Kirk
