Author's Notes: So hi I'm back with this new multi chapter story inspired a little by the film 'The Mummy'. So here's a disclaimer I do not own either Yu-Gi-Oh or The Mummy, sadly. Another One-Story incoming soon too.

3000BC

Thebes, The city of wealth and birthplace of one of the most successful Pharaoh's of the era, Pharaoh Atem. It was also the birthplace of Anzu, the Pharaoh's mistress. No other man was aloud to touch her.

The young woman walked through a large room that had golden walls which had hieroglyphics carved into them reaching upto the ceiling. Large pillars supported the room with a guard stationed at every one.

The guards didn't even bat an eyelid as the beauty continued to walk through the large room. No one dared admire her short brown hair, her sapphire blue eyes or the bronze of her skin for fear of getting sentenced to death by the Great Pharaoh.

She walked up the small staircase and pulled back a large curtain that led into a private room. There lay the handsome Pharaoh, laying on his bed awaiting her arrival.

His lips formed a grin noticing she were only wearing a silken robe. He sat up a little as she walked over to the bed. When she climbed upon the dark blue sheets she cupped his cheek and kissed him softly.

"I have missed you" he whispered placing his forehead against hers.

He could clearly sense that something was amiss. He caressed her hair and enhaled her sent of natural Egyptian oils. "What is the matter my love?" He asked kissing her shoulder softly.

"That is the point Pharaoh" she began as he looked up at her, "I know that you love me and only me but you still have wives—"

"Only for political purposes" he reminded her.

"and I understand this but it doesn't stop people from calling me horrible names"

"Their just names" he told her kissing her forehead, "but if it continues I will punish every last person who dares talk about you in such a matter, ok?"

She nodded as he kissed her, deep and slow, his hand pressing the back of her neck as the kisses become more quick and desperate. They fell down flat onto the bed as he untied her robe admiring her beauty and kissing her bronze skin making her moan contently.

Her hands roamed his bare chest as they got lost in each other as they did every night, sharing the love they both held for one another.

A few hours later...

Anzu was half asleep. The covers draped around the bare of her back as she slept on her chest. She could hear the soft sound of Atem's breathing next to her as she drifted in and out of a restless sleep.

She felt a sudden chill on her back, as if someone had pulled back the curtains to the windows letting a chill through.

She got up rubbing her eyes as they adjusted to the darkness. She saw nothing but felt as if someone were watching her. She put on her robe which was on the floor by the bed and lit a candle.

She picked up the candle and walked over to the window. The curtains looked out of place for some odd reason. She went to pull them back and go out onto the balcony when a hand caught her waist roughly before another hand covered her mouth causing her to drop the candle.

"Don't scream" the voice whispered, she recognised the voice and slammed back her head into his instantly regretting it as she felt a sharp pain at the back of her skull but it was enough force for him to let her slip from his grasp.

"Atem" she half shouted/half coughed trying to catch her breath.

Atem shot up instantly and was horrified at the sight of the woman he loved being held captive by a man he would trust with his life.

Bakura, was his most trusted general and loyal friend. "What is the meaning of this" he demanded.

Anzu struggled against him but the pain from her skull was making her dizzy. "I'm merely taking what I deserve, your throne and the woman you love most"

"Your mad" Atem groaned, "no one in their right mind would give you throne, especially if you harmed me or Anzu"

"Well your going to choose Great Pharaoh, the throne or Anzu, your choice" he laughed devilishly. Atem's eyebrows frowned as he took a step closer, "just let Anzu go and the throne is yours—"

Bakura screamed as Atem threw a small dagger he kept in his robe at his leg staggering him. Anzu fell forward into Atem's arms as a fire started from the fallen candle behind Bakura.

"Are you alright?" Atem asked cupping her face. She nodded as she got a glimpse of Bakura from behind her, "watch out" she called as Bakura came at them with a dagger of her own, Atem used himself as a shield throwing his body in front of hers. The dagger went into his back as he released a cry of pain.

"Guards" Anzu screamed as Atem fell to the floor. What was taking them so long? With Atem injured on the floor Bakura lunged for her. She ducked and pushed him back into the curtains which were on fire. He started to scream from the burning just as he guards entered.

"The Pharaoh is injured, fetch the physician" she ordered them as they took a burning Bakura away.

She bent down to Atem noticing a large pool of blood coming from his body. "No" she half screamed, moist tears falling onto his face, "why did you protect me?" She cried.

He smiled and touched her face, "because my blue lotus, I love you. Fetch my puzzle will you?"

She quickly went over to the night stand and brought over his Millennium Puzzle which he inherited from his father. "It's suppose to bring luck in the afterlife" he told her, "carry our souls off to a better life"

"What better life do I have?" She cried cradling his body. His hand fell from her wrist as his eyes rolled and his breathing stopped. She cried into his body and then lifted her head noticing the dagger still on the floor.

She knew she'd never be happy in this life, not without him. Their souls would meet in a different life she was sure but she couldn't live this one waiting for that moment. She took the dagger and stabbed her own heart, the heart that would always belong to him.

She laid next to her love entwining their hands together as she took her last breath. As both of their souls departed to the afterlife the Millennium Puzzle flashed promising them a better life.

1983, Oxford - England.

Tea Gardner sat in the lectur hall in Oxford University. Ever since she was a little girl she had always been into Egyptology, probably because her mother was Egyptian and her father was a historian before their tragic car accident when she was fifteen.

She promised to make something of her life to make them proud so she made sure to pass all of her exams and then she was lucky enough to be excepted at the top university in the country.

Dam she thought tapping her pen against her notepad. She had spaced out again missing some of the lecture, she didn't know what it was lately but she hadn't been getting much sleep and when she did she had these weird dreams about a pyramid. She figured it was because she was working so hard on her upcoming essay but she felt like it was something more.

Or perhaps it was the new very attractive university lecturer. He was quite young, perhaps in his mid twenties probably only just qualified to be a teacher himself. He had slightly tanned skin, perhaps he had Egyptian blood too?

His eyes were very striking and intense, the colour of the flower violets and his hair was oddly spiked into three different colours like nothing she had ever seen. His voice was deep and rich and it seemed most of the girls in her class got lost in his voice.

Luckily she was the only one who wasn't drooling all over him. The bell rang signalling the end of the day. All the students evacuated the room quickly wanting to go and get drunk or have sex probably. Tea was the last one in the room gathering her books and what not.

"Tèa isn't it?"

She turned hearing that deep voice of the teacher. "Professor Moutu, is something wrong sir?" She asked the young teacher.

He chuckled, "I am by no means a professor, not yet anyway, just call me sir, ok?"

She nodded with a small smile, she felt butterflies in her stomach, stop it she thought he's your teacher but she couldn't seem to help these sudden feelings which felt oddly familiar.

"I noticed the past few classes you've been distant, is everything ok? I don't want any of my students to fall behind, especially one of my top students"

She was flattered that he cared so much about her but then he probably cared about all his students. "It's just, my parents died four years ago and the anniversary is coming up soon—"

He looked down out of shame, "I'm sorry I should've remembered after reading your student profile, if you ever need to talk you can speak to me...or one of the mentors at the university, I'm sure your parents would be proud and wouldn't want you to fall behind in your studies"

She didn't quite know what to say so she just thanked him, considering he was a teacher he oddly didn't feel like one. "You should get going" he told her with with a small smirk, "dont all you university students have parties to go to"

She gave him a small smile as she left. The truth was she didn't like going to all those students parties and getting drunk, she wanted to save what little money she earnt so she could go to her first expedition to Egypt.

Yami watched as the young woman walked out of the door, for some reason she looked oddly familiar. He shook of the feeling and decided to go home, he had to plan for an expedition in Egypt next month, it was quite soon to be leaving the university for a few weeks but it was an opportunity he couldn't give up. There was some sort of ancient tomb that had been discovered and he had been asked by the local museum which he used to work for to go and check it out.

The hard part was finding someone to go with him!
