Story: Born to the late Antonio "Tony" Maroni, older brother of Sal Maroni and Elizabeth Gray, a British woman from a noble but shady bloodline, Esme was taught by her father that intelligence and resourcefulness is the most important traits of one person and what drives people are their desire and emotions but left uncontrolled, led to one person become vulnerable. When her parents died at the age of 10 from an accident, she later moved to live with her maternal relatives in England as she is more interested in their education system. In England, she was introduced to the criminal world through hacking and defends herself with the wired gloves although she prefers not to engage in physical fights. When she first started her career as an information broker (a nice word for a hacker), she met and worked temporarily with Oswald and Tracey. She graduated with Masters in Computer Science in Oxford, where she met Alberto Falcone, the heir to the Falcone family. Due to the Falcone-Maroni family feud, both Esme and Alberto tried their best to ignore each other during their tenure. Her relationship with her Maroni family are distant as they rarely interact with one another after the accident but recently, a vigilante in Gotham had disrupt their business and Esme felt obligated to help them. A truce was formed among the crime lords in Gotham to take down the vigilante and the preparation for plan started in early December. Esme's involvement in this event will change her life for the next decade
