You sighed boredly, laying your head on the arm of your couch. You sighed again, frowning sadly and wondering where Naruto was. Where could he possibly be? He promised to stay with you all day today. Why?

Your feelings for the blond had probably developed over the time he left the village. For two whole years you wanted to tell Naruto about how you feel, but when he did come back you could barely speak. It was when he asked you out that you figured he liked you back. He was constantly on missions nowadays, barely coming around to see you anymore. You wished you could go, but you had been injured badly and were currently resting up. Tsunade had ordered you to stay home and rest, and almost everyday she sent Shizune to check on you.

Of course, with your personality, this left you very bored. So today, you decided to call Naruto. Of course he jumped at the chance to be with you, and promised to be right over. It had already been an hour and he still failed to arrive. You were starting to worry. You even called your worst enemy, Sakura, to ask if she had seen Naruto., which she said she had not. And now you were waiting for him, laying in front of a fan with Naruto on your mind. A loud knock on your door made you jump in surprise and run towards the door. You peeked out the window, noticing it was indeed Naruto with a guilty look on his face.

"Naruto-kun!" you flung the door opened and jumped into Naruto's arms. He looked surprised at first, but laughed it off and hugged you back.

"(Y/N)-chan, I'm… sorry," you raised an eyebrow at the puppy dog look he gave you, "Really, I'm sorry! I looked everywhere but nothing was open or I didn't have enough money or-"

"Naruto-kun." You placed a finger to his lips, successfully quieting him. You placed your other hand on his chest and smiled. "What are you talking about?"

"A present for you," Naruto sighed, "Every store was either closed or didn't have anything you liked, and I looked all over the place-"

"So that's why your late?"

"H-Hai," Naruto blushed and rubbed the back of his head, "I didn't think it would take long, but there wasn't anything you'd like. I'm sorry, but I forgot it was your birthday. I remembered this morning but I've been so busy." You sighed.

"(Y/N)-chan?"

"You talk too much," you whispered leaning forward to press your lips against his. His eyes widened in surprise, but he got used to the idea of kissing you and wrapped his arms around your waist. You pulled away, a light blush dusting your cheeks. "Naruto-kun, it doesn't matter if you forgot, it doesn't matter I promise you. All that matters is that your spending my birthday with me and me alone."
