'What a shitty day.'
In the middle of the pouring rain sat Apollo Justice, kneeling on the ground with his head in his hands.
'First, I miss my alarm. Second, I spill coffee all over my desk. Third, I forget to meet Mr. Wright for a meeting. And now,' He looked in distain at the documents scattered on the sidewalk, 'I drop important documents for an upcoming case in the rain.'
IN. THE. RAIN.
Apollo's umbrella had been carried away by the weather's relentless gusts, leaving the red vested lawyer cold and angry.
"What a shitty day." Apollo gritted his teeth, furiously wiping away tears of frustration.
His tears just made him angrier, thus increasing the flow of tears.
"What are you doing?" A familiar voice sighed from above.
Apollo gazed up through his soaked hair and there stood Detective Ema Skye, Snakoos in one hand and umbrella in the other.
"Nothing." Apollo glared at the cement as he picked up the documents, trying to hide his tear stained face. "I just tripped."
Ema just munched her snacks and watched the younger man gather the, now useless, documents and rolled her eyes at his stupidity.
"It is hopeless, Apollo. They're beyond readable. Anyways, I'm sure you can make other copies, so let it be."
At her words, Apollo bolted to his feet and stared the taller woman dead in the eye.
"I've had the worst day of my life. Nothing I do is right, and I don't need you to rub it in!" Even as he yelled at Ema, tears began pouring from his eyes again. "I just want to curl into a ball and forget everything. But, no! I have a job, and people need me! But how can I help them when I can't even do something as simple as transfer documents?!"
Then Ema did something that almost made his heart stop.
She hugged him.
Apollo just stood lip in her arms, gaping like a fish out of water with his mind blank.
Finally, after what seemed like years, Apollo could finally formed a coherent sentence.
"E-Ema? Why?"
"It's alright. I've have a few bad days of my own. But, trust me. Everything will be alright."
His eyes soften and Apollo slowly returned the embrace, letting his tears flow freely now.
And he felt content.
No, he could still feel today's failures still weighing on his shoulders.
But, being here in someone's a warm arms, it all seemed bearable.
"Thank you, Ema." Apollo whispered. "I needed that."
