Just a bit of Caleo, because they are absolutely adorable!
These characters belong to Rick Riordan, not me.
Leo sat on the beach with the Archimedes Sphere, hands moving across it's surface absentmindedly as he gazed across the water. Three monthes, ten days, around 5 hours. Thats how long it had been since he had left Ogygia, that's how long it had been since he'd seen Calypso. He continued smiling and laughing with his friends, but it was subdued. Part of him had been left on that island, and he knew, someday he would make it back. "Just hold on, Sunshine." he whispered "Don't forget me. I'm coming."
Calypso stood on the white sand beach and watched the waves. She knew he wouldn't come back, no one ever did. But part of her had left with Leo, and she couldn't help but fell that maybe, maybe this was the one. "I'm waiting, Leo." she whispered "Come back to me."
Leo rolled to avoid the giant claw ready to squish him into mechanic pudding. If he could just beat this one monster, his dad had promised to give him a hand with the Sphere as a reward. One last blast of fire, and the monster went poof. Leaving Leo to dust off his jeans and call Hephaestus. "I'm coming, Calypso." he thought "I'm coming."
Calypso hated crying. It seemed pointless, she knew that this would happen. Six months today and no sign of rescue. Not that she had really believed he would come, but it was still bitterly disappointing, and heart breaking. As she brushed her tears away with the back of her hand, she glanced out at the shimmering water. Despite herself, she scanned the horizon for any sign of movement, but nothing was there. "Leo!" she yelled, as loudly as she could "Leo!"
It was a year today, and the end was in sight. After months of argueing with gods, working with the sphere and about three solid weeks of flying alone aboard the Argo 2, battling off any monsters that got too close, he could see Ogygia on the horizon. "Calypso!" he screamed into the wind "I found you!"
Calypso gave up hoping. She disposed of almost all remnants of Leo (keeping only one or two things she couldn't bear to part with) and tried to get herself to stop caring. Of course, this was easier said than done when almost everything on that stupid island reminded her of him in some way. She couldn't even pass her fountain without seeing his impish grin and hearing him say- "I FOUND YOU!" Calypso froze. Surely it was her ears playing tricks on her, but she could have sworn she'd heard "CALYPSO!" Leo?! She turned toward the shore, almost scared to look. But sure enough, there was ship speeding towards her over the water, Leo at the helm. "Leo!" she screamed, running towards the water, not seeing anything in else in the world but him, and feeling as though a missing piece of herself had been returned.
As soon as the boat was close enough to shore, Leo scrambled over the edge and ran towards her. Then suddenly they were embracing in a wild tangle of limbs and Calypso was repeating his name over and over like he might disappear if she stopped. Tears raced down his face as he pulled back and looked at her. "Well sunshine," he said softly, heart beating in his ears and unable to stop crying, "I'm back." She didn't respond, she just kissed him. And at that moment, He became whole again.
