Oneshot. Here we go. CHICAPLOOEY.
Joanne was exhausted when she walked in the door.
"Honeybear?" She asked the empty apartment. Of all the days for Maureen to skip out on, she picked Valentine's Day? Joanne was actually a little surprised.
Hurt and very disappointed, she barely noticed the rose petal on the floor.
"Huh?" She murmured, staring at the rose petal. In sharpie someone had written 12/24/98, 10:30 pm on it. "Isn't that the night at the Life Café?" Picking up her coat, Joanne left the apartment.
Walking into the Life Café, she smiled a little as she saw another rose petal on the table where she had made out with her girlfriend in public for the first time. This one read HELL.
"Hell?" Joanne asked the air, then she remembered. She always called work hell when she got home.
Now outside her office, she picked up the rose petal that was on the snowy stoop. It read No More Tears. This one stumped Joanne. No more tears?
Eventually, she thought about the day in the graveyard- Maureen had come up and dried her tears, and then they'd gotten back together. Maybe the graveyard?
Once she was there, it was getting colder. The wind blew harder and the snow whipped at her face. Luckily the rose petal was pinned down next to Angel's grave. It read Come home, Pookie, you must be cold! And Joanne didn't need to be told twice. Practically running home, she flung the door open and was so happy to be warm again.
There were rose petals on the floor leading to the bedroom. A sly smile crept onto Joanne's face as she shrugged off her coat. In the bedroom was a curled up lump under the covers. It looked a little small, but Joanne was too excited to care.
"Honeybear!" She exclaimed in shock as she pulled back the comforter. There was no Maureen under the blankets. There was a curled up ball of fluff that look very surprised when her den was disrupted.
"Her name is Pookie!" Maureen whispered, pressing her body against Joanne's. Joanne shivered, and saw Maureen smile at her response.
"You got me puppy?" Joanne asked with a smile.
"Happy Valentine's Day, love!"
"Happy Valentine's Day…. But I think we need to get the puppy off the bed, we're going to need a lot of room."
Ahaha… sorry.. I know.. a puppy? It's so short! Screw you. It was cute in my mind. xD I love you all, happy valentines day!
