This is my first fanfiction.. I do not own any of these characters. These characters belong to Tess Gerritsen, TNT, and Janet Tamaro.

- Jane and Frankie are on their way home on the bus, from school. Jane is 16, and in the 11th grade, and Frankie is 14, in the 9th. This little incident will change Jane's life. What she does on this bus ride home will cause her to change schools. At this new school she becomes fond of someone, but it's not a student.

It's December, Jane and Frankie are riding home from school on the bus. Suddenly broken pieces of a calculator get thrown into their seat hitting them both. Frankie yells to the bus driver," Mrs. Jones, they are throwing things again!" This is not the first time they had been hit by air borne objects thrown by indecent, ignorant children. It had been happening since August, the bus supposedly had cameras but no actions had been taken by the bus driver to suspend the kids doing the throwing. Jane knew the kids who were throwing the objects were ignorant, they had not been the only ones targeted by these malicious children, she didn't know who was throwing the objects, but she knew some of the kids didn't like her little brother. She was furious in the inside, but said nothing about being so.

Jane simply looked at Frankie and asked," Which seat did it come from? I know it's from one of the seats in front of us, but I can't tell which one."

She decided that enough was enough, she was going tell the bus driver which seat it came from or confront the boy/boys herself. It was obvious the bus driver knew these actions where happening because every time Jane looked up at the mirror Mrs. Jones's eyes were there as well. Mrs. Jones paid more attention to watching the kids than driving. So how could she not know who had been throwing crap on the bus for 5 months.

Frankie turned to his sister and responded," It's coming from the 2nd seat."

A couple of minutes passed by and they were at the 2nd bus stop, when Jane saw the person in the 2nd seat get up. The unknown douche bag was about to get off of the bus. Jane jumped up without thinking. She stood in front of the seat when she saw the little bastard who had been throwing the objects. She noticed he was a little shorter than her, and was probably not in her grade, so she wanted to go easy on him and just ask him to stop.

Jane looked at him and said," I know you're the one throwing the things at me and my brother. You need to stop." After she said this she realized the trouble she had just started, she hadn't planned what she was going to say when she got up. She just did it on impulse. The bus was practically full it was only their second stop. She realized everybody was probably looking at her.

The boy responded," Man, I don't know what you're talking about. You need to get out of my face." She was not in his face he was just trying to look tough, she could have extended her lengthy arm in his direction and wouldn't have even touched him. So he approached her. Jane knew that people came that close to someone else for 2 reasons: Affection, or Aggression. She knew it wasn't affection. So she pushed the prick out of her face, she could feel his breath on her and Jane did not like people getting that close to her, at all. He came back pushed her, and grabbed her hands. Trying to push each other to see who was the strongest it was really elementary. Jane realized the younger boy was stronger than she thought, and he wasn't going to back down. He could have only been 1-2 years younger. She knew they were going to fight, because he wouldn't let her hands go, but Jane was a more skilled fighter than he thought. She quickly pulled from his tight grip, but they were in a seat, a small seat. There wasn't much she could do because of the seat size. She quickly took her arm wrapped it around his neck pulling him towards her and underneath her arm. She punched him, over and over, as they fell into the seat across from where they were. They landed on this kid, but she didn't notice because her back was turned to him. She landed on her back, and the little fucker was on top of her. She continued throwing punches.

Then a shadow came up. It was this kid who didn't like her brother. And had said that she was fine and talked him wanting to have sex with her. He once told Jane that she could suck his thing. Jane being the person that she is simply replied," Yeah come to my house, and I'll cut it off. That way next time you want it sucked you can do it yourself." She said it bluntly because she was serious. He had kicked her shoes and quickly moved his foot, but she saw his shoe. So she looked around at the shoes on the floor, found it and kicked him back. He looked at her and yelled," Why did you kick me?" Jane was taken back a little by his stupidity, but then remembered what kind of school she attended. She calmly said," I saw your shoes stupid, don't put your fucking foot on me again." But that was weeks ago.

She wondered why he was getting up, but quickly realized she was about to be jumped by the two. She simply smirked because she knew it was going to be hard for her to get hit, since the dude was on top of her. She was still punching, but she had lost her contacts when she and the dude had fallen into the seat. Her vision was terribly blurred but not completely, she could make out shapes. The perverted shoe guy managed to hit her once, this infuriated her more. Jane began kicking his leg as hard as she could. Then she saw Frankie get up, and he began beating up perv. While she was distracted the boy punched her in the face maybe four times, it didn't hurt though. She punched back and began clawing his face since her arms were a bit tired. Someone pulled the guy from on top of her but she was still punching. Her brother was still in the seat fighting when this guy picked him up and pulled him over the seat. The boy her brother had just beaten up was coming at her and calling her bitch. She remembered that he had tried to jump her and punched him in the face, his mouth began to bleed. She knew that was enough, she just sat back in the seat with her brother. All that happened in less than 2 minutes. Frost, Jane's best friend pushed the guy off the bus and told him they were going to fight. But he was scared he said no.

The whole next day at school she was hoping not to get called to the office, and she hadn't until the last period of the day. She was pissed. That quick fight was the reason she was in the office right now, writing down what happened on a sheet of paper for the principal. A boy who told her that he loved her last year had passed by and saw her in the office and said "Uh oh." That's when it hit her that she was about to be suspended. She thought, " Fuck!"
