There's a tear in the fabric of your favorite dress
And I'm sneaking glances.
Roger grins childishly as Mimi twirls around the loft's living room, watching her favorite black dress move effortlessly with each of her movements. It's times like this when life is untarnished. Just him, Mimi and the moon. And nothing, nothing could take the memory of tonight away from him.
Looking for the patterns in static
They start to make sense the longer I'm at it.
"Wanna dance?" Mimi laughs as she puts out her hand inviting Roger to a moonlight waltz. He hesitates then gets up reluctantly taking her slender hand. Her eyes gleam as Roger wraps his arms around her waist pulling her in for a small peck on the lips. Mimi let's out a sigh as she snuggles against Roger's shoulder. They rock back and forth to the sound of the traffic below.

Mimi pulls back so they aren't smushed together anymore. Still the scent of her skin lingers on Roger leaving him slightly spaced out. They continue their little sway, until Roger takes Mimi and tries to dip her. He looses balance and they both end up on the hardwood floor, lying on top of each other. Yet neither move, as Roger gently strokes Mimi's hair as he sits over her with the same stupid grin plastered on his face.
Your
heart is a river that flows from your chest
through every organ
He kisses her again but more passionately this time. Mimi caresses Roger's face with her left hand, then slowly traces the way down to his chest where she can feel the sturdy heartbeat against her hand. With her free hand she takes his hand and places it on her chest so Roger can feel the same simple wonder. "You know" Roger remarks "The heart is like a stream, giving life to the whole of you"
Your
brain is the dam
and I am the fish who can't reach the core.
He slowly inhales and continues "And the heart should never be ruled by the brain, for love doesn't have logic. It just is." Mimi rolls her eyes at him "Since when did you become an expert in this domain?" Roger flicks Mimi's forehead with his index finger playfully. "Since when do you question my expertise?"

Roger stands pretending to be hurt and sits on the old couch pretending to pout. On the floor Mimi props herself up on one elbow so she can keep sight of him, knowing that he was going to crack up in about 5 to 8 seconds. She counted silently one, two, three, four and in record timing Roger's lips pull into a stupid grin and the uncontrollable laughter takes over. "He was never that much of an actor" Sighed Mimi as she stands to go join lover boy on the couch.
Oh,
instincts are misleading
you shouldn't think what you're
feeling
they don't tell you what you know you should want.
Soul mate is such a dangerous word to use. Is there even such a thing as one true love? Could this be it? How does one know for sure? Apparently there's many possible mates that a person could have and be perfectly happy and compatible with each. And Roger thinks that's complete bullshit. Even if his instincts don't always steer him in the right direction, he's happy where he is right now. Roger wraps his arm around her shoulder bringing her close despite the end of June humid weather. Mimi sighs again, snuggled up against his shoulder and drifts off to sleep. Before Roger drifts off as well one thought flows through his mind..
Could this possibly be my glory?
