Bookmen are meant to be impartial. Bookmen record history in the making, they don't partake in the events that are occurring; they don't influence and they don't feel for the people they depict in the pages of their journals.
But it is difficult to not get pulled in by the cheer amount of chemistry between the Winchesters. The bond these two brothers share, the love which will inevitably cause them such grief. Lavi has been travelling with them for a few months by now under the guise of an expert exorcist, and to be honest, half the time he feels like beating these two idiots over the head with a hammer. Knock some sense into them.
But that's not his mission. He's here to watch, to record the biblical apocalypse, not to prevent it by making the two idiots that's rushing the world into its grave, together with their own emotional well-being, see reason.
