AN: I don't own Skyrim or Skyrim's NPC character names. They belong to Bethesda and Todd Howard. The only thing I own is OC character names.
Chapter 1
The darkness was unsettling. Like clouds that hung in the air on a stormy night. As a High Elf, Myrddin was confused by it. It was off putting to have one's senses dulled and muted.
'I must have finally been captured ' he thought 'The Thalmor have always been slow but to take this long.'
He heard talking but they were whispers on his senses. He wanted to open his eyes but they felt heavy. After a few minutes his eyes finally opened, shattering the cloud that hung over his mind.
As Myrddin finally opened his eyes, he saw trees, snow-capped mountains. The stone creating a wall on both sides. Briefly a pair of deer raced by.
"This must be Skyrim." He muttered. All Myrddin remembered was crossing into Skyrim and slamming into a group of Imperial guards then darkness. He looked around and saw a Dark Elf and a Nord dressed in Stormcloak clothing. Oh yes, he knew about the little Civil War that plagued Skyrim. The War was talked about while he had ran through Cyrodiil, fleeing from his Thalmor pursuers. The Imperial guards had called it a rebellion. The Nords fought because the Empire outlawed Talos worship due to losing the Great War to the Aldmeri Dominion. True, Myrddin thought it foolish. After all, what would Skyrim do if they won? Did the simply think the Empire would just leave? That the Dominion would allow them to rule in peace? No. Myrddin knew that both factions would fight the Nords that pushed them out. Skyrim was in chaos at the moment, neither side would yield. The Nord spoke, breaking Myrddin from his thoughts.
"Damned Elves" he said "You think yer high and mighty until someone makes you bleed." He glared toward the lone Dunmer that was seated by Myrddin. "You grey skins have no reason to be in Skyrim either. You elves need to go back to your homelands before someone makes you." his voice filled with hatred.
Myrddin knew why he spoke as he did. The High Elves of the Summerset Isle made up most of the Thalmor in Skyrim. He heard that his 'bretheren' had stolen men from their families for worshipping Talos in secret. The Dark elves refused to take a side in the war that brewed in the aftermath. Besides, they said, why should they join when they are treated terribly.
He let loose a bitter laugh. "And I suppose that someone would be you." Myrddin spoke. His voice a soft baritone. He looked at the Nord fully noticing that he wore the grabs of a Stormcloak General.
"You are covered in wounds yet you speak as if you still have strength to fight." Myrddin sighed.
The Imperials and The Stormcloaks were the two factions that made up the Skyrim Civil War. The Stormcloaks, lead by Ulfric Stormcloak, believed that Skyrim should be returned to the Nords and those without Nord blood should leave Skyrim. The Imperials, led by General Tullius, believed that the Nords were traitors for fighting against Imperial Law. Myrddin never really understood the amnesty between the races of Nirn. Always fighting and warring with each other, it made no sense to him.
The unnamed Nord spoke angrily. "By Ysmir, I may be bloody and weak but there's still life in these bones and-"
The Dunmer interrupted. "Your complaining isn't helping anyone you ignorant cur ."
Myrddin glanced around again noticing a village that they were heading toward. The village itself was a sight to behold, Imperial guards lined the walls and towers with bows and soldiers milling about around the front gate.
He heard the Nord and Dunmer about to argue, but as he went to shut them up a guard yelled out.
"Shut up back there."
Myrddin looked at the sign post that they were passing with trepidation as they closed in on the village. The reason for the trepidation was for what it read.
HELGEN.
He heard of this place, how could he not. Those that came here never returned and the occasional villager that traveled from Helgen told stories that chilled Myrddin to the bone. He knew being sent to this place meant one thing.
Death was coming.
Author's Note: My friends and I spun this around in Discord and we thought why not use our characters as a base for OC names. Hope you enjoy.
