This is an early Valentine's Day gift to my friend, insouciantIntellectual. I've recently gotten him addicted to Harvest Moon, so I'd like to introduce him to our lovely little world. Keep in mind that I do not ship PC/Rick, but he's obsessed with the chicken farmer. Also, in this, "Claire" is named Viola (because insouciantIntellectual thinks she looks like Viola from Witch's House) and she wears her hair in braids. This is not apart of my Harvest Moon series.

She thought he didn't notice all the little things she did, but he did.

He noticed the way she would hum an eerily creepy yet beautiful song while she cooked dinner. He noticed the way she would never actually make the bed, only rearranged the comforter to make it appear that she had. He noticed the way she would always fiddle with her hair in the morning before accepting that it was simply too thin and too long to do anything with and pulled them into their usual braids.

He noticed the way she would doze off in the fields during work when he came home for lunch, leaning against a cow and snoring softly. He noticed how much she hated the chickens but put up with them for his sake. He noticed the way she played fetch with her dog, not even hesitating to throw the ball despite all the saliva that would accumulate. He noticed the triumphant look on her face whenever Zach handed her the money for her shipments.

He noticed the way she treated his mother and sister, as if they were her own flesh and blood rather than family by marriage. He noticed the way she would skip through town happily, carrying a basket full of whatever goods she was giving away that day. He noticed the way she interacted with the villagers like she'd grown up in Mineral Town.

He noticed how she always smelled of apples after her nightly baths. He noticed that she had a full closet full of dresses and skirts she never got a chance to wear. He noticed the books she would try to slip under her pillow to read at night when she couldn't sleep. He noticed how her lips moved slightly while she read one of her romance novels, how her face would go red and she would slam the book closed when it got particularly steamy.

He noticed the way her eyes would trail after him when they went to the beach in the summer. He noticed the way she would never wear a two-piece bathing suit because of her insecurity. He noticed the way she would never meet his gaze during the Goddess Festival even though, in his opinion, she was the most beautiful girl there. He noticed the way she wore gloves or had her hands in her pockets to hide the callouses on her palms as if they were ugly things that marred her. He noticed how she was able to tell when he was upset and rushed to cheer him up. He noticed how warm she was when he was in her arms, and how soft her hair was when she tucked her head under his chin.

He noticed everything about her.

And he loved it all.
