Chapter 1
It had been a week since the incident, a week since he had spoken to her, a week since he had touched her, a week since he'd even looked at her. Rima Touya had survived the awful attack on her body and was out of any immediate danger, she was now able to go back to classes, the bandages and painkillers remained, as did the nightmares, but they were nothing compared to the pain of losing him. She would have rather died. You see Rima was attacked by the very person she loved most in the world- Senri Shiki. He hadn't meant to do it, his father had possessed his body and used him like a sadistic puppet to harm anyone who got in the way, which just happened to be her. A whole week Rima had been trying to convince Shiki that she didn't blame him, tried to tell him that she needed him near her, tried to make him seeā¦but to no avail. He would just look into her eyes, his own full of pain, his fists would curl and he would simply walk away without saying a word. This hurt more than any blood whip ever could.
But now, a week on, it was Rima's chance to get back some normality and her only chance to get him back, without Shiki, life just wasn't worth living. With the support of Ruka, she managed to pull on her Night Class uniform and scrape her long blonde locks into her usual school girl style pigtails. Feeling slightly tired and nervous, Rima headed over to her first class since her injury, Ruka and Aidou helping her to walk.
Spying a chair next to Senri, Rima made a beeline, hobbling over as fast as she could to the spare seat silently praying in her head. Gingerly sitting down, she studied Shiki's face hoping to get some emotions from it, maybe happiness, recognition, hell even pain or anger would do- but nothing! He glanced right through her before standing up and making his way over to the empty seat by Kain on the opposite side of the room. Watching the most important person walk out of her life stirred up a mass of heartbreak and pain. Unable to stand it anymore she stood up halfway through the teacher's lecture, everyone's eyes were instantly on her- but her tears blurred their faces out. Staring directly at Senri with hope and longing in her eyes, she was once again ignored by him as he looked away from her, his attention locked on the table instead. Now openly sobbing, Rima hobbled out of the classroom as quickly as her injured body could take her.
Hobbling down the path to the moon dorms, Rima felt a sharp stab of pain attack her midsection, crying out in pain she looked down at the bandage covering her wound, seeing it soaked through with blood. She gingerly touched the area, putting as much pressure as her weak body would allow her to on it, though her hands were soon also soaked through with the crimson liquid. Crying out to anyone in the hopes of being heard Rima's body began to shake as she fell to the floor, her vision being consumed by black spots. Senri's pale, frightened face was the last thing she saw before unconsciousness took over her and she was left to bleed on the pavement.
