"What about the others ?" Richard stammered.
Matt smiled. "They have their own life ahead of them .Say hi to Matt and Scott for me."
He turned and walked towards the mountains with Flint. The others stared after them.
""What did he mean by that?" demanded Scarlett ,nearly in tears.
"Don't you see?" asked a familiar voice.
"Mrs. Ashwood?" asked Jamie incredulously "But you said that-that you were-"
She held up a hand, the universal motion for 'stop'. "I know what I said, Jamie. But Holly has disappeared. When the nukes entered the ice gate, the temporal energy released sent us back ten years in the past. The typhoon in Hong Kong was just yesterday. The gate is closed. The future will not be what you experienced."
Richard felt a bubble of hope rise in his chest ."So when Matt told us to say hi…"
Mrs. Ashwood smiled. "I think you should go help your friends Pedro."
Pedro ran to where Matt and Scott were lying in the snow.
"Richard ,Scarlett, check Matteo's wounds for metal pieces."
He held on to Scott's hand and let his power flow into Scott. After a few tense moments, Scott inhaled sharply. Pedro immediately shifted and caught Matt's hand.

Matt's eyes opened.
"I'm not dead?" he asked hoarsely.
"No ,you're not. Matt, I..." Richard had tears in his eyes.
"It's okay, Richard. You did the right thing." Matt sat up slowly. Scarlett was crying into Lohan's coat, and he was smiling. Scott was already standing up, leaning on Jamie.
"Matt, I'm sorry"
"It's alright Scott. It was meant to happen." He offered everyone a weak smile. "I'm fine, really"
Lohan turned to Mrs. Ashwood.
"So, what happens now?"
"Well, you will go back to Hong Kong, to your father. I'm sure the lessons you learnt will be of use there. Richard, you can work for us if you wish. The battle may be won but there is still a lot of work to do. You were recommended to us. I believe you know Ms. Leis?"
Richard blushed red and mumbled something about crazy ex-girlfriends.
"As for you five," she regarded them quietly "You can all live together ," she eyed Scott " or separately, if you wish. Nexus will pay all your bills, you can live in any city in the world. You can even go to school. It's up to you."
Everyone turned to Matt, who was standing in between Jamie and Pedro. Richard noticed how oddly they were standing, almost like they were in formation. Matt was in front. To his left, Jamie, then Scott. To his right were Pedro and Scarlett. It was like the Justice League or something.
"I just want to go back to London. Be a normal kid" said Matt.
"I will go with Matteo" said Pedro.
"Me too" said Scarlett.
"I-" Jamie hesitated and looked at Scott. They appeared to be having a silent debate. Then Jamie smiled ."We'll come with you too"
"Alright then." Mrs. Ashwood looked like she knew this would happen. "The plane is waiting. To London we go."
