Fire and Lies

By: Marie

Short Authors note:  I wrote this for me but it fit the Rogue stereotype I have of her and Logan.  I think that if she had

wrote it, it would be about her letting go.

Authors little rant:  Please be gentile.  This is my first attempt at a poem and I'm quite excited about it.  Positive reviews will be met with illusory cookies.  Flames will meet a totally different reality: deletion!

As the fire burns so does the heart.

We see only what we are shown and question nevermore.

Beneath the stars my heart exposed.

Beating with fury I clamor to have more.

Shown what we know, we never see the truth.

Hidden beneath valleys and hills

Unforgiving is the scorned heart

I need to only have you once more

Reaching as though you are able to feel

Unnatural as this loneliness feels

Nothing is shown to me

I see no truth.

The banshee releases its terror

Running, you know you should

Cling to what you know to be true

It is not I, not anymore.
