Author's Note- So, for those of you who follow my account, and are wondering why am I posting something about My Little Pony… I have no excuse. Feel free to judge any way you wish, but I would appreciate it if it was kept to yourself. To all other readers, just a short inspiration I had, about Celestia and the troubles she may be facing. I took a few creative liberties/assumptions. Anyways, enjoy!

Celestial

She was a monarch, ruler and protector of the fair land of Equestria. For 1000 years she had carried this burden alone, but finally she was reunited with her sister, and they had resumed their old responsibilities; she raised the sun every day and lowering it to make way for her sister raising the moon.

She took pride in her role. She reveled in lighting the day for her subjects, and for keeping her kingdom clean and free.

However, beneath her regal and benevolent exterior, she was plagued with regret. She regretted having banished her sister, no matter how necessary it had been. She regretted her separation of her and her subjects, for she longed to be closer to them than as a ruler, to truly be part of them!

She regretted her inability to more directly teach her best and favorite student. Such talent, such power the mare held! And her dedication to study, though it may cause problems occasionally, was commendable. She couldn't think of another pony that was a better student.

Yet a new regret had begun to take hold of her -her inability to protect her kingdom. She had felt her age creeping upon her for a long time, accelerated by her thousand years of raising and lowering the sun and moon alone. It had come to stark reality when Queen Chrysalis had defeated her during the attack of the changelings. She had felt her age, the strain on her abilities, and her inevitable defeat.

Her sister did not share her problems; the time on the moon as Nightmare Moon had preserved her. Her kin was not ignorant of the Princess of the Sun's plight, but she did not acknowledge it, choosing instead to deny the cruel reality, pretending it did not exist.

Of course when she began to discover this dilemma, she had managed to briefly put aside emotional response and began to develop solutions. Immediately her thoughts turned to her pupil- she had potential to be an excellent successor.

Undoubtedly there were flaws to be ironed out, lessons that had yet to be learned. She had straightaway executed one of these tests, and was intensely proud to see her protégé succeed. The Princess of the Moon's reception of the student had been less warm, but she understood her sister's reluctance of the prospect of having a replacement of her beloved sister who she had just been reunited with after a millennium. Acknowledging this, she believed the plan would smooth out, and her sister would recognize the necessity of it. Both alicorns were already preparing for the next stage of the young mare's training.

She bowed her regal head whenever faced with confronting the end of her time. It was a frightening prospect to consider, given how long she had clung to her time. But her aged wisdom consoled her, as all things, good or wicked, must and will come to an end. She would meet her end with head held proud and high, and strive to prepare her pupil and sister for the change.; peace would settle over her mind.
