Summary: Inspired by the song, "No Shoes, No Shirt, No Problems"—thought of Allan! Oh, and a bit by a comment made by omteddy!

A/N: Written for the TAR/Intercomm contest on LJ. I know that this is not even close to historically accurate—I was just having fun. Not even meant to be believable. A total lark to be taken with a grain of salt (or a rim of sugar crystals!).

Allan A' Dale stared at the sunny sky overhead as he leaned back in the sand, a cool drink beading up with sweat in his hand. When the gang had turned on him that last time, he had decided it was time for a break and headed south—far south. He had only stopped when he had seen an amazing sight—men and women basking in the sand on a beach beside the Mediterranean Sea. In a nearby town, he found gambling houses where he was quickly able to discern the cheats that the dealers were using, and thereby win some money, although he was careful to keep his winnings small so as not to catch attention. Over the course of many weeks, he had won enough to purchase a small home that overlooked the deep blue ocean, and to keep himself in food and wonderful fruity drinks that left him feeling quite fuzzy after he had imbibed a few. The waves lulled him to sleep as he watched pretty French girls wander the beach refreshing the gentlemen's drinks. He wondered what Robin and Giz and the others were up to.
