Jane was very proud of her ringtones, and even more so the specific ringtones she had placed for most of her contacts. So when her phone vibrated and rang a very standard sound, Jane was unsure of just who was calling. The number wasn't familiar, but she answered it anyway. "Rizzoli." She said impatiently, annoyed that someone random was bothering to call her. But the voice that chimed through on the other end of the call made all sense of annoyance disappear instantly. "Well I'll be damned, Beth Childs. You a detective yet?" Jane smiled as she held up a finger to Korsak, leaving the room and heading out into the warm, summer Boston street. She smiled as Beth explained she had in fact been promoted to a detective. "Atta girl Beth! I must say, you learned from the best." Beth had trained in Boston shortly before moving back to Toronto, something about a boyfriend and an opportunity in the force waiting for her up there. Jane hadn't really pried too much. "Alright enough with this small talk; it's not every day I get a call from Toronto PD. What's going on?"

What was going on? Not an easy question to answer for Beth Childs. Between work, Paul, the shooting, the drugs, and oh yeah, being a clone, what wasn't going in Beth's life? "A lot of shit, that's what. Listen I need to meet up with you and discuss…something. Something I'm trusting you with because they're, they're gonna need another cop. Alright?" Beth knew that nothing she had just asked had made sense to the detective on the other line, but she knew Jane wouldn't say no. They had only been friends and colleagues for a short time, but they had formed some very close bonds, and Beth would do anything for Jane, and vice versa. "When is the famous Jane Rizzoli able to meet the lowly Elizabeth Childs for a chat?"

Jane had no idea what Beth was talking about, but she didn't sound totally sure herself, either. "Guess it depends on where this little rendezvous is gonna take place. You want me to come up there, it's gonna be a few days, maybe even a week before I can pull the strings and get that kind of time off. But if you can get yourself down here, this can happen a lot faster." Jane was willing to make the trip, but she didn't know how urgent of a matter this was to Beth, so she placed the ball in her friend's court. "Your call, Childs." Jane checked her watch, knowing she needed to get back to work, but she was willing to wait for Beth to make a decision.

"Why you gotta always put this crap on me?" She closed her eyes tightly and rubbed her forehead with her hand. It would be ideal for Jane to come to Toronto, but Beth didn't know how much longer she wanted to stay here, with all this madness around her. And it wouldn't be hard for her to get out of work considering she was on probation. "I'll be there tomorrow night." She blurted into the phone, shrugging to herself. "Let me get my shit together and I'll come down on the train. Pick me up, I'll text you with my arrival info." In her closet now, she reached for a duffle bag and packed an extra outfit, realizing she really wouldn't be there for more than a day. Instead, she packed an extra pair of undergarments in her purse. "And I'll leave mid-afternoon the next day. There's too much shit going on right now, but I need to see you. Be there tomorrow." She waited for Rizzoli's husky voice to bid her farewell, and she dropped her phone on her bed, needing to check the train times so she could leave as early as possible in order to arrive tomorrow evening. But first, she needed to call Alison.
