Prompt: Library
He's not sure anyone but him would believe that Penelope loved to read.
Well, that she loved to read something other than graphic novels, iHarry Potter/i and the RPGs she participated in online.
He knew that Penelope went to the library at least once every two weeks and generally borrowed somewhere from 5-10 books only to bring them back two weeks later.
She always read every single one. She even read the ones she didn't like, claiming it was important to finish what she started. Besides, she couldn't post to her blog about how much a book sucked if she didn't finish the whole thing.
Her preferred location for reading was in bed, generally buried under her mound of blankets with a book light.
She'd been under that thing for nearly an hour now and he was starting to get lonely.
Carefully he picked up the bottom edge and lifted it. She was engrossed in her book, as always and barely even noticed him until he kissed her ankle.
"Stop it," she said, never taking her eyes off the book, "I'm reading."
"I'm bored," he complained and kissed her calf, "Put down the book and play with me."
She looked away from the book then and gave him a stern face, "No, I have another chapter to finish now stop it."
He was completely under the blanket now and pressed his body against hers. His lips went straight for her neck.
"If you think you can just…" her words trailed off as his mouth found that perfect spot. She groaned, "But…Derek, Harry was just about to….to defeat…"
He kissed her lips and her hands went limp and the book slipped to the floor, "Harry can wait," he said when he pulled back, "Derek's about to storm the castle."
Penelope's breath hitched as she pressed again him, "Well, I guess Harry isn't really going anywhere."
Derek smiled and kissed her again. Turns out his third grade teacher had been right. Silent reading time could be fun.
