Disclaimer: I do not own Death Note. Or Gossip Girl, for that matter. And that, my friends, is probably a good thing, because there is no tangible way they should be combined.
Ok, I mean seriously, what exactly is this?

Chapter 1
L here. I believe a bit of background is necessary before I start this, and believe me, you better pay attention because this won't be repeated.
I am L. I am the greatest detective in the world. Perhaps you have heard of me, perhaps you have not. No matter, for it is better if you haven't. I like to stick to the shadows, for they are better to gather information from. I only take on cases that interest me.
So why am I here? Well, let me explain to you.
I am the greatest detective in the world. I know everything about everyone everywhere. I can tell you who is going out with who, and whose been scrambling through their closet trying to find a pair of Gucci shoes they haven't already worn.
I only take on cases that interest me, and lucky for you, Tokyo happens to be very interesting.
So, watch your step. L is watching.
Sightings:
M and N fighting (again) near the park, but was that Ma hanging nearby? Of course it was. When it comes to M, Ma is always nearby….
Matt sighed. Of course Mello and Near would be fighting again. If it wasn't one thing than it was another. He could find no peace with them. Then again, he mused, it was his own fault for being friends with Mello in the first place. He jammed his thumb down on the gameboy controller, scoffing his worn Adidas sneakers in the dirt trying to tune out the racket they were making. It seemed like they were fighting over some girl this time.
At least that situation had improved since last time. It was Light's sister Sayu who had them in such a deep argument. Briefly Matt wondered what she'd think of their reactions, but dismissed the thought in favor of finding the last dragonfly in his Spyro game.
He didn't even really like Spyro. Lucky for him, Mello called him over.
"Matt! Lets go!" Matt nodded his head, briefly glancing at Mello. Near stood by a park bench, looking impeccably clean as always. Matt gave him a one over, briefly wondering how he managed to keep his white Lacoste shirts so clean, and how many of the same outfit hung in his closet.
He followed Mello down the sidewalk, listening quietly to his chatter, trying not to trip while still playing his gameboy.
"And, I swear, that if Near even says one more thing about…" Oh, never mind. Mello's words were irrelevant. Matt tuned them out.
Near watched Matt and Mello leave before turning away. He was seething, but calmed himself down quickly. Mello ran emotionally high, he told himself, and sometimes overreacted to things.
Although, Near wasn't quite sure what Mello was overreacting to this time. He tried not to listen when it came to Mello. He had screamed something about Sayu Yagami, whom Near had mentioned at one point was awefully pretty, and then something about rape, and Near was 18 years old, he knew his limitations and he knew the law, and it couldn't be possible: No, it was morally wrong to do so…
Near sighed. He could use some puzzles right now. Nice and orderly puzzles. That, most importantly, could not talk.
More Sightings:
L avoiding A by ducking into alleyways. What's this? He's finally gotten sick of her? Its surprising it took so long. And what was T doing, looking at that jacket in Fiorelli? Its totally not her style. Oh well. Maybe L's sister S can save her from that fashion disaster….
Ok, I mean seriously? Near/Sayu? I'm thinking no. I'm thinking… actually, I must not be thinking. That's it. That's the answer. But I would like to know… how's the concept?
Concept yes/no?
