Hello again all. Jay-Chan is once again here with another story. This is another random whim off the top of my head, and I felt it should be persued. It's not a long story at all, so don't expect anything. Just a nice quick, light romance to break from my monotony on General and Humor fics. ^_^;

Amy hit the wet grass with force. Wincing, she struggled back up, and wiped the tears from her eyes. She brushed off her damp dress and began running again.
"Why did I end up here, again?"
............
"It's because of him"
Amy, once again began sobbing. Sobbing for that familiar blue hero. He always did this to her. Always. He let her tag along. Made her feel wanted, but never for to long. Whenever she felt she was getting close, he threw her to the wind. He didn't really care about her. Did he?
Amy continued running. Trying to leave behind what she had just gone through. The pain and the struggle she felt she was destined to forever live. To love someone that could care less. Is there no worse torture?
Amy found herself ambling up the steps of the Master Emerald's alter. She looked around, spying no glimpse of Knuckles, or the other island's residence. With a sigh she sat next to the giant glowing stone, and began to cry into her dress. She choked, and sobbed, and the tears just kept pouring out. Try as she might, she couldn't seem to stop herself from all out bawling. Suddenly, she felt a strong arm on her shoulder. Amy let a small smile come to her lips, turning to what she expected to be the amethyst eyes of Knuckles. However, she only found big green gems upon her. She let out a tiny shriek and jumped back slightly, making her finder jump a bit too.
"Oh," Amy said, giving a little sigh of relief, "It's only you, Chaos" The watery demon said nothing, and gave a small nod. Amy still found the demon's arm on her shoulder. She looked towards the monster, until she met with his eyes. He cocked his head to the side, as if quarrying her state.
"It's nothing, Chaos, it's just..." Amy felt tears welling to the surface "it's...it's..." she stammered. Suddenly, Amy burst into tears, once more, unable to hold in her sadness. No words needed to be spoken. Chaos could feel the pain of her broken heart. He once again brought her close.
'Warm...' Amy thought as she found herself crying against the somewhat solid chest of Chaos. 'He's warm...' And slowly that warmness overcame her. Her tears began to dry as a slow haze over took her. The pain began to numb as sleep over came Amy's form. In a heartbeat, she was snug and snoring lightly, hugging gently to Chaos.

The moon beamed proudly over Angel Island, bathing the alter in a heavenly pale blue light. Countless stars flickered and blinked, dotting the night sky and adding their own tiny luminescence to the deep black void that was space. Amy blinked her eyes open, still in her sleepy daze. Giving a yawn and a stretch, she looked to her left to see Chaos's torso, assuming she had fallen asleep on his lap. Amy looked up to find Chaos's curious eyes, studying her intently.
"Chaos?" She adjusted her eye-brows and stared at the demon. "Have you been watching me this whole time?" But Chaos said nothing, averting his eyes, almost seeming to be embarrassed. Amy was about to question again, but suddenly she found herself distracted by the moon.
"Would you look at that, Chaos?" Amy said, pointing towards the moon, her eyes wide with awe. "It's so big and pretty."
Chaos could do nothing but stare at the glorious orb in the sky. No matter how long he had lived, no matter how many times he had seen it, the moon was a brand new wonder every time his jade eyes looked upon it. And now he had someone to share it with.
