I am the Jabberwock
I am the Jabberwock.
I am like you,
You are like me.
I am the Jabberwock.
I am the last Jabberwock,
I am all alone.
I want what you want,
Survival,
Shelter,
Companionship,
But no one knows.
I am alone.
I am the Jabberwock.
I am like you,
You are like me.
I am the Jabberwock.
I live in fear of humans,
You think me a beast.
I do not mean to frighten you,
With my attempts at introductions.
I just want to be friends.
I am alone,
I want to be loved.
I eat the true enemies of the forest,
The horrific Rocs, Whangdoodles, and Kraklemungers.
They are the horrid ones,
But you do not know,
You see me attack what you think are innocent creatures.
You fear me.
I look like a tiny dragon,
Shining black with electric violet eyes.
I have small wings and can barely fly.
In my frustration my eyes flame.
Yet my heart breaks,
As I cannot reach my goals,
For I am not a dragon,
I am a Jabberwock, and I do not know what a Jabberwock is.
My tail droops in sadness.
But I mean no harm.
I am the Jabberwock.
I am like you,
You are like me.
I am the Jabberwock.
One day I was hunted,
By a boy I do not know.
He did not give me a chance,
Just attacked with all his might.
If he had given me just half a chance,
I would have cried, no-
I would have explained.
I would have whispered and cried that my flaming eyes
Were just frustration and pain.
I would have told him I was not to be feared.
However, I didn't get the chance.
I was the Jabberwock.
I was like you,
You were like me.
I was the Jabberwock.
