Cassidy paced the hallway, growing impatient. "Johnny!" she yelled through the closed door. "We're going to be late! Are you almost done getting ready?"

Johnny stepped through the doorway, looking incredibly handsome. He had replaced his usual tunnel plugs with elegant diamond studs. He had had his new tuxedo custom tailored, adding subtle blue embellishments. A lovely white rose stood tall within his gentle grasp. He had even taken the time to do his hair up in a nice way.

"Johnny..." Cassidy was speechless.

Johnny laughed at her. "Sweetie, get used to it. From now on, I'm a taken man. I have to look presentable for Rick, right? You know, nice clothes and all?"

Cassidy snorted, saying, "J, when you and Rick are together, I really doubt clothes will be involved!"

Johnny blushed bright red, making Cassidy laugh even harder. "You are too cute!" she exclaimed.

A voice came from the doorway. "Hey, uh, Johnny?"

"Yeah, Paul?"

"Rick's waiting by the alter. If I were you, I would get my ass down there, now."

Johnny felt his entire being fill up with joy at the thought of what was about to happen.

He and Rick had dated for five years before Rick proposed. Unfortunately, the happy couple had to wait three more years before they were allowed to get married. Every night after the initial proposal, before they went to bed, Rick would ask Johnny, "Are you still a yes?" And Johnny would then reply, "Until the moment my heart stops beating."

They had actually already had four "fake" weddings; one was in Disney, at Cinderella's castle, one was at VooDoo Donuts, one was at KFC, and one was in a Target parking lot.

Johnny took a sip of his Pepsi-Cola, suddenly overcome with nerves. Today was the real thing. It was really going to happen. He had been waiting for this for so long, and now it was finally here.

He made a mental list, ticking things off as he accounted for them. Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue. Well, his tux was brand new, and it had bits of blue on it. His shoes were actually Rick's, since Johnny couldn't find a decent pair to wear, so they were something borrowed. Something old... Johnny strained to think of something old that he had on. Oh! Of course! His diamond earrings! They were passed on to him from his cousin. They were at least thirty years old. Was thirty years considered old? He guessed it would have to do in this case.

He had his bases covered. The rest of the phrase flashed in his head: "And for good luck, a penny in your shoe." He grabbed a penny from the dresser and placed it on the sole of his left shoe.

It was time. Johnny took a deep breath, and walked out of the room.
