It was Hermione's Sixth Year and she was wandering the Twins Joke shop with Harry, Ron and Ginny. She was standing next to the 'Love potions and More" shelf, It was filled with pink vials and red parchment. Ginny was peering at the label of one of the Vials and Hermione was reaching out for one of the scented parchments when a hand clasped her wrist. Instead of screaming, or gasping in shock, she jumped back and bumped a shelf filled with invisible ink, and other small glass jars, filled with various other liquids. Forgetting the hand on her wrist for a moment, Hermione squeezed her eyes shut in expectation of a crash. Hearing the sounds of shattering glass surrounding her she yelps quietly, just as she feels strong arms wrap around her. Hermione hears a grunt as whoever is shielding her is hit by the falling jars. As the sound of shattering stop, Hermione opens her eyes slowly and peers at her protector, seeing a flash of ginger hair and a cheeky grin, her heart started to beat faster.
"Hermione, are you okay?" Fred's voice rumbled out of his chest, and Hermione had to blink to clear her head.
"Yeah, I'm okay." Looking around at the broken glass she added, "thanks to you."
Fred smiled at her and whipped out his wand and quickly cleaned up the shards of glass from the floor. "Since it is you, we won't charge you for the breakages." Fred said, grinning at her. "But I do ask one thing."
Hermione Grinned back at him and raised an eyebrow. "What is this one thing you ask?"
With a chuckle Fred grabbed her wrist again. "Hermione, would you like to go to dinner with me?" Before she could open her mouth to reply he pressed his finger to her lips. "It doesn't have to be today, it doesn't have to be this week, and it doesn't even have to be this year. Just promise that sometime in the future, you will have dinner with me." Hermione nodded, and smiling she replied'
"The day after school ends, next year. After I graduate." Fred grins and their date is set.
