It was really late. Neither of them were really in the Valentine's Day mood. Or so she thought… But it WAS Valentine's Day after all. And there really is only one way to celebrate.
When they got home, none of the lights in the house were on, but there were candles literally everywhere. Kensi was surprised. She thought they weren't going to do anything special for Valentine's Day. She was wrong.
She turned to face him. "What is all this?" Their noses were nearly touching. "I thought we agreed, nothing big this year?" "I didn't make any promises", he said. "Just like how you never made any promises to not smell me ever again?" She scrunched her nose and bit her bottom lip, trying to hold back her growing smile.
He leaned in for a quick kiss and grabbed her hand leading her up to THEIR bedroom. They stood next to their bed and just looked into each other's eyes, smiling, not ever flinching. It could have been for two seconds, it could been for two hours, only God really knows.
"I love you, Kens."
"I love you too Deeks."
They took a nice, refreshing, hot (in more ways than one) shower and got ready for bed. Of course, not to sleep in it.
They started off slow. It was really quite. But they were really happy. Even when their lips were locked, they couldn't stop smiling.
The pace finally started to pick up. They could have gone all night.
Deeks finally broke away. They were laying side by side now. He said, "Kens," She looked at him still smiling but slightly confused. He didn't want to ruin the moment, but he couldn't hold it in any longer. "Deeks, what's wrong?" He stared at her for a second, then he realized that she had responded.
"I, uh… umm" He couldn't get the words out. "Deeks?" She began to worry. 'Screw it!' he thought. "Okay, I'm just gonna say it." He got lost in her eyes again. They started kissing, again.
"Wait. I have to tell you something." He said. "Okay, fire away." She gave him her full attention.
"So… you know how we're all in, and now we live together and everything?" he could feel his heart racing. "Of course." She laid her hand over his heart, still smiling. He continued, "…well, I was thinking that one day, maybe we would take our THING even further." He finally got it out. Her smile started to fade.
"Yeah, I'd like that."
"Really?"
"Why wouldn't I?"
"Because…." He actually couldn't think of a reason. "... I don't even know."
"Well, if you ever think of a good reason why I wouldn't, let me know. Then I might give it a second thought." Her smile started to grow back.
They made love, one last time for the night.
Then they stared at each other again. Except this time, they could tell how long it was. It was about twenty minutes.
Deeks, breaking the silence says, "So if I were to bend down on one knee, and pop the question, you would say yes?" His eyes searched her features.
"Yes."
"Really?"
"Really." She said with a sarcastic tone. "Why do you keep asking me that? Why don't you believe me?"
"I've just never heard you call me 'Marty'" He said, with a sigh.
"What does that have to do with anything?" She really was confused now.
"Well, if you just keep saying 'Deeks', people are gonna start to think you're talking to yourself." She started laughing, which made him start laughing. Her laugh was contagious. For him anyways.
He loved her laugh.
He loved every part of her.
He loved Kensi Marie (soon-to-be-Deeks) Blye.
'That sounds really good', he thought.
"Kensi Deeks. I like it."
He kissed her nose gently. And she fluttered her eyes and looked up at him. She tucked her head into the crook of his neck taking in his unmistakable sent and said, "Goodnight Marty."
The smile on his face grew even bigger (if that was even possible). He looked down at her being sure not to wake her.
"Goodnight Deeks."
