Disclaimer: I don't own Danny Phantom, Butch Hartman does. And the song "God Made Woman" belongs to Keith Urban.
A/N: I was listening to this song the other day, and I thought 'this would be perfect for Danny and Sam…' and thus I wrote this. Just a bit of fluffiness after Danny realises that he's in love with Sam. Pre-PP, songfic.
God Made WomanIt was late at night and once again, Danny Phantom had been patrolling Amity Park to make sure there were no ghosts wreaking havoc. Surprisingly, the night was peaceful and Danny found himself flying over a too familiar street.
It never ceases to blow my mind
It does it to me every time
Danny's flight came to rest outside an open window. Turning himself invisible, Danny climbed through the window silently. The wind gently rustled the black curtains as he stood there, gazing in at the sleeping figure on the bed.
Standin' here
lookin' at you
It makes me wonder what He was up to
Was He
thinking about me when He thought about you
Samantha Manson. His best friend. The love of his life – well, she didn't know that yet. It hadn't actually occurred to him until a few weeks earlier. He had been in love with her since his freshman year, and he had only realised it now.
When God made woman
She was perfect. She was his everything – all he had ever needed or wanted, it only took him too long to realise this.
He must've
been proud
Yeah, he must've been crying or laughing out loud
It
must have felt like the first time
Gettin' kissed by the sun
When
God made woman
Danny stepped over to the bedside when he saw her shiver. The day had been especially warm, so Sam's light nightgown was hardly protection for the sudden dip in temperature the late night air had brought.
It must have
been the most beautiful day
Lookin' down on all creation
Danny, still invisible, quickly pulled a blanket over Sam's uncovered body. She shuddered lightly with the change in temperature, before involuntarily wrapping it around herself. Her breathing remained even as he pressed a gentle kiss on her forehead.
He took a
river that winds and turns
Took a fire that breathes and burns
And
put it all in place
In the most perfect way
He loved everything about her. She was an individual – so much so that she practically treated it as a religion. She had a fiery temper, but he always knew how to make her smile. Whether it was his corny sense of humour, the occasional awkward "blushy" moment or his witty comments when he sucked the Box Ghost back into the Fenton Thermos for the umpteenth time.
When God made
woman
He must've been proud
Yeah, he must've been crying or
laughing out loud
It must have felt like the first time
Gettin'
kissed by the sun
When God made woman
"Danny?"
When God made
woman
He must've been proud
Yeah, he must've been crying or
laughing out loud
It must have felt like the first time
Gettin'
kissed by the sun
When God made woman
Danny smiled as he saw the girl of his dreams begin to stir. Flying out the window again, he left one last sentiment before returning to his nightly ritual.
God made woman
"Sweet Dreams, Sam."
