Sam watched his brother surreptitiously across the expanse of the table in the noisy diner. Dean's eyes were slid to half-mast before he was four bites into his dinner. He hadn't even bothered to flirt with the petite red-headed waitress - Sam's first sign something was amiss. When she came back to clear their plates and offer them dessert, he was pretty sure she had startled Dean awake. He, predictably, ordered pie but didn't even finish it. Dropping cash on the table, Dean dug the keys out of his pocket. Sam snatched them out of his too-slow grip.
