It Shakes All Over Like a Jelly Fish, PG. Peter/Jason. This crazy little thing called love is synonymous with being stupid. Title courtesy of Queen.
If there's one thing they're good at, it's being stupid. Kissing, too — yeah, they're okay at kissing. More than okay, if Jason does say so himself. He and Peter are the best at kissing ever. There is no way anyone could be better at kissing than them (than Peter, really, because Peter does that thing with his tongue and—)
But in the grand scheme of things, they're much better at being stupid. They would never be this stupid in front of other people (oh please God no), because it's the kind of stupid they save for only each other. After a long day of pretending to be smart, Jason can unbutton his shirt and pull on gym shorts and just be stupid. He likes being stupid, likes it so much more than being smart all the time, with school and with everyone else. Peter laughs at him when he says something that makes him sound like an idiot, laughs until his face is red and Jason has to kiss him to shut him up.
They hover like that, Peter sitting in his desk chair or on his bed or on the floor and Jason leaning over him, on his lap, sprawled on top of him, faces close together and noses touching. Smiles stretch their faces and sometimes they get up and dance to whatever music Peter has playing. And, really, Peter shouldn't really be making fun of Jason for being an idiot because Peter always looks dumb singing and dancing around their room in his boxers, except when he just looks really, really hot. They dance fast to the slow songs and slow to the fast songs, Peter's arms linked around Jason's neck, laughing like the only other thing in the world is Jason.
He likes being the center of the universe like that. He likes the way Peter looks at him and he hopes that Peter knows he's looking at him the same way.
Or sometimes they flop down on Jason's bed and watch a movie. Or sometimes they get a manic sort of spark in their eyes and think it's a great idea to run to the grocery on the corner of Smith Street and see how many Oreos they can eat at once. Or sometimes they copy each others' homework and get all the answers wrong, but it's okay because Sister Veronica never checks it, anyway. Or sometimes they plan out their future, their house and their dogs and their jobs and their cars and how they'll always be together, Peter, like this, and Peter says that he hopes not exactly like this because you weigh a ton, Jason, get off of me.
Or sometimes Peter says, I love you so much, and Jason just smiles, stupidly.
