Hello my fellow DMC enthusiasts.

So I was browsing YouTube one day, listening to music, reading the comments. And while I was listening to some DMC: Devil May Cry music I stumbled upon a video that played the song Gotta Go by Combicrist with an image of Dante and Virgil from DMC 3 facing off against their rebooted characters. In the comments section I found the comment that said, "Want to know what I think Ninja theory should do? To please not only the old fans but the new ones. Have both generation Dantes work together to defeat the two generation Virgils. I personally think it would be amazing." I agree with this person. I also think it would be amazing. I'd love to write the story myself and I probably will at one point, but for now I'll post a challenge for a few reasons: 1, with all the stories I'm working on at this time I'm swamped as it is. 2, I'm curious to see what you people might come up with. 3, I have no confidence in my ability to accurately portray the lovable ham that is Dante.

Now without further ado let's get to the guidelines. I implore you to at least try to comply with the first guideline. That being said, let's get down to the actual rules.

1: I cannot even begin to stress this enough, but Dante and the other characters from the reboot must be treated with RESPECT. *Reboot haters pull guns and swords out* Seriously guys? I know it might be a pretty big pill for some of you to swallow, but it's really not that hard. Like I said, the reboot Dante and Virgil characters have to be approached and treated respectfully. I don't want the reboot Dante and Virgil being portrayed as useless, weak, whiny, or otherwise bad characters. If you have the original Dante taking cheap shots or verbally abusing his reboot in some form, that's fine. I only ask that you give the reboot its fair chance to dish its' own cheap shots and abuse, which brings me to my second guideline.

2: Dante must have a rivalry with his reboot. Meaning that they each mock and try to outperform the other. You know, something to show the best qualities of both characters. *Reboot haters point guns and swords at me* Come on guys, I'm sure you can think of at least one good thing on the reboot's part.

3: The reboot characters have to be post DmC: Devil May Cry. Meaning that Dante now has white hair and that Virgil has gone through the "Virgil's downfall" story.

4: Virgil and his reboot have to be the villains in the story and they have to work together to achieve their goals.

5: Devil Triggers have to be included in the story.

6: I probably should've said this sooner but the two Dantes have to work together.

7: Unless absolutely necessary and integral to the plot, the original and reboot Dante and Virgil are not to be killed off. The point of this is to challenge your creativity, not to vent your anger on the reboot.

Those things aside, you're free to do absolutely what ever you want. What other characters from the new and old games are included, which of the Dantes from the original games is used, Virgil's motivation, and which of the two worlds the story takes place in is entirely up to you. If you decide to accept this challenge please let me know via the review section or a PM and that you alert me when the first chapter is published.
