When Angels Cry Blood

Chapter 1

Victoria woke up with a huge grin on her face. Today was the day. The day she would become Mrs. Harvey. She stared at her engagement ring adoringly. She could just burst out of happiness. It's so cheesy, she thought, but she felt all fuzzy inside. She was absolutely estatic; so much so, she didn't think her heart would be able to take it.

Callum grinned as he got ready for the wedding, with "Sharp Dressed Man" by ZZ Top playing in the background as he looked at himself in the mirror. "I am a sharp dressed man," he mused with a grin. "I do," he joked, making kissing sounds, "I'd marry me too," he said, laughing.

The Doctor stood in the TARDIS by himself. "London, 2014… Not a bad year… A bit dull though. Maybe I'll find someone with more than half a brain," he exclaimed as he stepped out the TARDIS to take a stroll through London. He came to an abrupt stop as he spotted an Angel Statue in the corner of his eye. "Probably just being paranoid… It couldn't be…" he muttered to himself, "Besides," he added, "It's London; someone is bound to be looking at it at any given time."

"Do you, Callum Harvey, take this woman to be your lawfully wedded wife?"

"I do."

"And do you, Victoria Shay-" suddenly the lights went out and Victoria was so shook that she let out an ear piercing scream. She felt someone… or… something move by her very fast. The Doctor busted through the doors without any delay, using his sonic screwdriver as a flashlight.

"Listen up! Don't blink! Whatever you do, do not blink! If you have half a bloody brain you'll listen to me! Blink and you are dead!"

"Just… Who are you," asked Callum, obviously bewildered.

"Call me the Doctor."

"Doctor who," asked Victoria, wary of the old Time Lord.

"Are you deaf as well as stupid? I clearly said 'the Doctor!'"

"What on Earth are these things?!" Callum asked worryingly.

"Ah… well that's the thing. They aren't from Earth. Nobody knows where they are from really… More to the point - They're Weeping Angels. They don't exist when you're looking at them; they turn into statues. If you look away for a second, or if you blink, you get zapped into the past with their cold, touch. The nice way to die. Better than getting zapped with a Dalek laser at any rate…" the Doctor explained.

And so, their nightmare was born.
