The following was written as an entry in Astrid16's impromptu dialog-only contest/challenge. I wanted to do something between Kai and Mina (OC), but instead it ended up about Lloyd being skeptical of his possible future parenting skills- due to the severe lack in his own childhood. It's a bit of headcanon, but I think it's still fairly in character... ish. There are no pairings.

"Do you ever wonder what our kids will be like?"

"Lloyd, we're trying to play a game, do you have to bring this up now?!"

"Have you ever thought about it Kai? I mean, what if they're exactly like us, or... or they become the complete opposite and they run away because we never get along!"

"Okay, first off that would never happen. Second, can you stop thinking about this and continue the game? You don't even have a girlfriend, why on earth would you be thinking about having kids?!"

"And what if they inherit our elemental powers too? I'm the Golden Ninja, would that make my kids Golden Ninja too? Can kids even handle that much power? Will my kids be able to handle that much power?! What if-"

"Lloyd snap out of it!"

"What? Oh... right... I guess I should unpause the game..."

"Gee, you think?"

"But... but Kai..."

"Yeah...?"

"What if... what if I'm a bad parent?"

"You...? A bad... parent...? You've completely lost me now kid."

"My dad was Lord Garmadon, basically the lord of evil. My mom just disappeared one day and ditched me at a boarding school where no one liked me. What if I end up doing the same thing?"

"Becoming an evil overlord?"

"Kai! You know what I mean!"

"Alright, alright, don't get so mad. Do you really want to know what I think?"

"Yes!"

"Don't worry about it."

"What...?"

"You heard me kid, don't worry about it. You're not your parents- you don't even know if you're going to be a parent yet. Worrying about something that hasn't happened yet isn't going to change how you actually do it. So what if your kid hates you? So what if you can't be a good parent to whatever kids you may have? It doesn't matter right now. You hear me? Now, I would like to play Grand Stolen Vehicle 5 and make things explode and listen to the artificial screams of digital citizens. Are you in or out?"

"I guess so... But Kai?"

"Yeah?"

"If... if something happens to me... can... will you take care of whatever kids I have?"

"You're making me swear on people that haven't been born yet..."

"Please Kai...?"

"I... Yes. Whatever kids you got, and you go missing, I... I will protect them for you."

"Thanks Kai, it means a lot to me."

"Well, you gotta figure, we need to teach the next gen that ninja stick together. Right?"

"Exactly! Now, let's play GSV 5!"

"Now you're talking!"
