Jacob's POV

Bella seemed to be getting better. I could finally make her smile to the point where the whole room lit up again. With the rest of the pack she has become practically an everyday thing. They, Sam mostly, accept her as part of the La Push family, like Emily. Though Sam is still on edge. He doesn't want Bella to end up like Leah when I find my imprint or worse, as she was a couple months ago when that bloodsucker left her.

Bella smiled again at me before grabbing my arm and pulling me towards the garage in my backyard. She absolutely loved the motorcycles that we bought. "Come Jake. We can probably get in a ride or two before the rain comes back. This is the nicest day we've had in a while."

I let her pull me along as we wheeled the bikes to one of the nicer dirt roads. As she practically bounced happily in front of me as she pushed her bike, I was once again reminded of how much I love her… "Hey Bella, can we stop here for a minute?"

"What is the big bad wolf already tired?" She asked playfully. "The human's not even breaking a sweat!"

"Ha ha, you little jokester, I just have something I wanna… talk about."

Bella seemed to have sensed the change in emotion as everything became more serious. "What's up Jake? Something bothering you?"

I took a deep breath to collect my thoughts and emotions before I continued. "Yeah… Bella, do you like me?"

She started laughing. "Of course, Jake! You're my best friend."

"No not like that, like love me…"

Her laughter and banter automatically ceased as she gave me a look. "Jake… I-I really don't think I'm ready for a relationship right now… let alone with you. You're like my brother, the one who keeps me safe. It's just a crush anyhow, you'll find your imprint soon and I'll just fall back in the shadows."

"But Bella! It's not just a crush! I know it's not, please you have to understand. I love you!" My eyes searched hers frantically for anything.

"Jake, I'm not the one. You'll find her eventually and everyone will be happier. Just… please Jake." She turned away from me as I turned from her.

Okay, so kind of sad in Jacob's point of view, but I've always had a soft spot for Jake. Anyhow, even though I am a Team Jacob member, I will NEVER ship JacobxBella. I don't know why, but I am a sucker for canon pairings, even if I think someone would be better with someone else. Hope you somewhat enjoyed it as it is different than my other writings.
