Wanda POV
"Hmm" I sigh, happy and content in Ian's arms. We are sat in our room waiting for Jeb to come and take us out with him, Andy, Brandt, Aaron, Maggie, Kyle, Mel and Jared. Jamie begged to come with us and Jared was just about to say yes but Mel and I quickly put a stop to it.
"I love you" Ian softly murmured, his breath tickling my ear.
"I love you too" I replied, causing him to kiss my neck and leave his lips next to it. This simple gesture made me shiver even though I'm not cold. Completely the opposite actually, where his lips were lightly resting against my neck it felt like I was being burnt, but in a good way. Whenever he touches me it feels like fire, not like when Jared and Melanie touch but much deeper. As mine and Ian's relationship is progressing it's actually starting to feel like a wildfire rushing across the dry desert as well as molten rock moving far below the surface of the Earth.
Ian kissed my neck again and I giggled and blushed, two things that I was not used to after being in Mel's body. The giggling I don't mind so much but the blushing can become unbearable and because the skin on this body is so pale and silvery, the redness stands out so much.
Suddenly, the door was pushed open by an excited looking Jeb.
"Time to go" he said.
"Yay" I said. My voice melting sarcasm, something I had only learned to use after coming to the caves. Humans are pretty negative creatures to be honest.
"Aww, come on, it'll be fun." Ian said.
Over the past few days there had been movement spotted from a little lookout point in the caves. We can tell it's a person but we're not sure whether it's human or a soul. We think there might be more than one but we're not sure, only one goes out at a time but some days the person is tall and slim and other days it's small and … not so slim.
You see, that's why we're going out, to investigate. We are just going to walk out and see whether they are human or souls. Either way we are going to bring them back to the caves.
"Come on you two, everyone's waiting" Jeb said to us impatiently.
"Okay, okay we're coming" Ian said before lightly pressing his lips to mine.
I smiled before grabbing his hand and our backpacks and dragging him out of the room. Ian swiftly took the bags out of my hands and started carrying them himself.
"Ian, what are you doing, I can carry my own bag." I protested.
"Can you really" Ian replied in a completely nonchalant tone.
"Ian just give me my bag" I said as sternly as I could.
"Nope" He said making the p into a popping sound.
"Ughh" I groaned.
Ian just chuckled slightly and started to pull me faster through the caves. I smiled, how lucky am I to get a guy as good as Ian is.
"Finally" Jeb muttered as we entered the main cave. "Right we'll leave out of the entrance near the storage corridor" A shiver ran down my spine as all of the dark memories of my times in the hole came flooding back. Ian obviously felt it because he hugged me closer to him. "When we return we will come in that way too, is that alright with everybody?"
"Jeb why do you even ask because it doesn't make a difference whether it's alright with us or not." Jared pointed out.
"Yes I suppose you're right but I didn't want to seem impolite." Jeb said back. "Well
then, shall we get going."
"Come on" I muttered to Ian as everybody else had started moving in the general direction of the hole in a big group.
"Are you excited?" Ian asked.
"Hmm" I had to think about that one. "Yes" I said finally. "I am."
