Zim stood in the grassy plains, the storm howling behind him. The rain thundered, and in a flash, it was dark and silent again.
Oh, how Zim hated this kind of weather, he couldn't escape the cold, cruel feeling that Dib might find him, and drag him off to be tested. Thunder struck, and Zim shivered once more, clutching the trunk of the tree he was under. This was no weather even a human could survive, how would he ever get out of this mess? Rain went on, pouring, Zim was stuck here until the storm ceases.
He scanned the area for something, and something caught his interest. On the far left of the plain, there was a stone, and on the stone, was engraved, "I am that is."
"Who is this "that is"?" Zim whispered under his breath, he wanted to know, something about those words made him curious,
"Tell me! Anyone! Tell Zim what these words mean!"
There was no response, just eerie silence. The silence made Zim uneasy, he didn't like this silenc He stood, once more waiting for a response. A thunder sounded, and Zim leapt back, letting go of his grip on the tree.
"W-what was that?" he muttered to himself, obviously afraid.
"That was thunder." a voice behind him squeaked. Slowly, Zim turned around, a mouse, fully clothed, and was his height was standing behind , Zim stared at the mouse. "Oh, sorry, did I scare you?" The mouse spoke up again, "My name's Matthias. I'm the guardian of RedWall."
"Red...wall?" Zim repeated slowly, "What is this "Redwall" you speak of?" Matthias turned his head, and Zim followed his gaze.
Where he was looking, there was a huge brick wall with archers, guards, and defenders.
Strange, that wasn't there before.
"You see, Redwall is protected by a veil of magic that keeps it hidden from your kind." Matthias exclaimed while beckoning Zim to follow him.
"Ma..gic?" Zim repeated again, confused.
The humans never spoke of magic. This must be ancient then.
In front of Zim's crimson eyes, the gate to the kingdom opened, and Matthias beckoned him inside.
"Come, I will show you the dangers of Redwalls and its peaceworthiness as well." he said, "Follow me."
