"Mommy." A small voice called out, gently shaking the sleeping form in front of her. The sleeping woman mumbled inaudibly as she slowly woke up.
"Maisy. Why are you awake sweetie?" She asked the child, who held a small pink blanket and was wiping a tear from her eye.
"I can't sleep." The seven year old said, wiping another tear from her cheek. The woman sighed softly, opening her arms for the child to climb into her embrace.
"Did you have another dream about Daddy?" The woman asked with a hint of pain in her voice. The little girl nodded.
"I miss Daddy." The girl mumbled after a few moments of silence. The young mother kissed her daughter's forehead and pulled the little child closer to her chest.
"I know baby girl. I do too." She said, rubbing the little girl's back in circles. A few moments later both fell asleep.
