Moments to Cherish
James stood waiting in the church, fidgeting nervously. He hated waiting around like this and he was beginning to fear that she had changed her mind. It had only been a year ago that they had left school and decided to buy an apartment together.
Lilly didn't have any family left after the hit Voldermort had overseen on her parents, the only person she had left was the god-awful sister of hers and she hadn't turned up today.
Sirus placed a hand on he's shoulder, "Hey stop fidgeting, she'll be here. Besides how would she escape Remus?"
James smiled, that was true. Remus had offered to walk her down the aisle, something that her father would have done if he were alive and James couldn't help but feel really happy that he's friends were decent people.
Sarah stuck her head around the door leading into the church and signalled thumbs up to Sirus. "Here goes James, kiss your single life goodbye."
The organ sounded and there was a rush of noise as people got to their feet.
Lilly stood just beyond their eyesight, Remus smiled at her. "You look beautiful Lil, you and James are really lucky." she smiled back at him.
Sarah and Trinity straightened out the train and then they passed Lilly her flowers.
The dress was a beautiful satin white strapless princess cut (I've heard my sister harp on about this. She's getting married and I liked the sound of the dress.) Lilly sighed, this was the moment she had dreamed off, in moments she would meet her future husband up by the altar and they would be joined together forever.
The ushers pulled the doors aside and Remus and Lilly stepped up to the entrance, she could feel all eyes on her, but she could she was James. He was staring at her with adoration and a big smile across he's face.
They made their way down the aisle slowly as they had all practised nights before, Sarah secretly wiped a tear away from her eyes and reached over to squeeze Trinity's hand. Remus now stood in between James and Lilly, he held her hand up and waited for the one sentence he had to say.
The priest smiled and waited as everyone took his or her seats once again. " Dearly beloved we gavered here today to join this man and this woman in holy matrimony." he looked to Remus "Who givith this woman's hand in marriage?"
Remus smiled "I do" he pronounced loud and clear for all to hear, he felt James hand on he's shoulder and he turned to him and passed Lilly's hand and stepped back.
"Do you James Harold Potter take Lilly Ann Evans to be your lawful wife, to have and to hold; through sickness and health, till death do you part?" James looked deep into Lilly's mesmerising green eyes "I do" he replied.
The priest turned to Lilly and repeated the same and Lilly replied "I do" "By the powers invested in me I pronounce you man and wife. You may kiss the bride."
James turned to her and lifted her veil and cupped her cheek bringing her face closer to he's, as they kissed cheers could be heard and they broke apart both laughing and knowing who was doing.
After a lot of pictures including some taken by Sirus who insisted they did silly poses. They climbed into the car, which was taking them to their reception.
Alone, James took her hand "Finally you're a Potter at least" they laughed, remembering the jokes at school. Even the teachers had began to call them Lilly and James Potter by their fourth year.
"I love you James" Lilly whispered gazing at him, "I love you too" he replied.
A/N: ahhh don't you just love them, Please R/R, maybe I'll write some more to the story.
